Harvey Levin from @TMZ told @TonyPerkinsFOX5 they will release news tomorrow that the NFL knew about the Ray Rice video & turned a blind eye

What will happen? Someone will get fired for this.

Yep. If this is true, he needs to step down. It is quite obvious, if this is true, that the new indefinite suspension is only damage control.

I have been a big supporter of his, because I feel like Tagliabue wasn't doing anything, but IF the NFL knew about this, then he needs to go.

The owners might have to do it to save face for the league. Tags was like a limp **** for a commish. Goodell came in and looked like just what the league needed. That changed pretty quickly tho. The league would be better off with him gone. Maybe this will be the opportunity.

I thought it was already established they knew about the video, but they just hadn't seen the video. That is what it sounded like to me when I read the statement the NFL released today.

We all knew he punched her and knocked her out, the problem was the suspension was insufficient number of games. But if they are saying they never saw this video when they did, then that is a problem.

of course he's gonna say that lol

Well then don't say anything. Just say we've moved on..ask the league office about this.

Why lie & then be caught in a huge lie like that? That makes no sense.

Or is TMZ the bastion of truth in all this?

I wouldn't put much credit into anything TMZ says.

Bunch of bottom feeders digging into peoples personal lives trying to ruin them for page hits.

You'd have to be completely naive to think the NFL hadn't seen the video. It's a multi billion dollar industry with a crack squad of lawyers that'd make OJ Simpson blush, they probably saw the video before Rice even made bail.

I'm sure there was an agreement made to keep it under wraps, and some security guy released it for a kickback. You can convince any guy making 10$/hr to give you information if you offer him 50k. Now the NFL is trying to save face.

Should be fun to watch.

I wouldn't trust TMZ 100%, but who has more to gain by lying? I'd say the NFL/Ravens.

Usually i'd agree, but i'd hardly call this ruining someone's personal life...

In this case- what did TMZ lie about?
Not that I disagree with you about TMZ- I will never live in Los Angeles again and they are a big reason why.

I think he's a puppet for the Giants, but I've been pleased with his efforts to protect the head and turn the game back from hitting to tackling. I'm not sure Goodell is going to survive this.

The comment was in general and not specific to this case but as far as them dropping the bomb that the NFL seen the tape and lied about it I will need more than their word to call for the commissioners head.

That said, Goodell has cut the balls off of the NFL and it wouldn't break my heart one bit to see him go.

There is a difference between knowing about the video and seeing the video. The question I have - if they knew about it, why didn't they make an attempt to see it? And if they did, what prevented them from seeing it? Still some unanswered questions.

I don't really see their motive for a cover-up. Ray Rice, in the grand scheme, is nothing special to this league. If it were Tom Brady, maybe they'd worry that it would hurt the popularity of the league but with Ray all they would have to do is kick him out and everybody outside of Baltimore would forget about it.
