I don't understand why so many people don't like Mario Manningham. The guy produced big time, with an inconsistent QB

I think long term several other WR's will turn out better, but I think in terms of short term if Manningham gets on a good team with a good QB and another good WR (like ours) he'd have the most immediate impact of any of this years WR's

HOLE GETS DEEPER FOR MANNINGHAM

Posted by Mike Florio on April 14, 2008, 9:35 p.m.

With a potential draft-day slide being greased by so-so pre-draft workouts and the inexplicable decision to lie at the Scouting Combine about whether he failed one or more drug tests while at Michigan, receiver Mario Manningham did further damage to his draft stock via a train-wreck Monday afternoon appearance on Sirius NFL Radio.

Manningham was interviewed by Adam Schein and Tim Hasselback on the Afternoon Blitz. To put it mildly, it did not go well.

A trusted media source who heard the interview explained it to us as follows: “He made a fool of himself. He hung himself. He took no responsibility to what happened in college or his error in judgment at the Combine. He was arrogant and defensive. When asked about the balls he dropped in big spots, he responded, ‘What about the ball I caught?’ . . . . He couldn’t even handle question about his agent change or why he left college early. . . . Total knucklehead.”

Last week, Manningham sent a letter to all 32 teams seeking forgiveness for his failure to tell the truth at the Combine. Perhaps he’ll now pen a follow-up letter apologizing for his appearance on Sirius NFL Radio.

I wouldn't mind Manningham at 28 if the WR trades (Williams, Boldin) don't happen.
Whoa.

Stop.

Hold the phone.

Say that again?

Surely you didn't go THERE!!!

This guy is an absolute idiot. When asked if he would have stayed in college if Carr was still coach he said he didn't know. When asked if another coach would have been named (It sounded like they were meaning the current DC). His response was... "he play defense, I play offense." What?

He was obviously in the process of doing something while doing the interview. He was walking around, and at one point I thought it sounded like he was getting out of a vehicle. Not something I would think you would want to be doing when trying to repair your image.

When the interview concluded I was praying the Cowboys don't waste a pick on this guy.

He has total bust written all over him. Most of his answers left the Shine and Hasselbeck scrambling to come up with a follow up question. It was as if they were staring at each other with dumb founded looks on their faces because they couldn't believe what he was saying.

Or maybe it was just me staring at my radio in disbelieve. We do not want this knucklehead.
