-----------------------------------

I think Felix Jones will be the most impressive rookie in 2008 over Kenny Phillips.

This is going to be a serious battle between these four teams this season, but the Cowboys have the most talent so they should come out on top.

Deion Sanders on the NFL Network thinks Felix will be one of the stand out player of this rookie class as well. Jones brings a lot to the table ability wise

Yeah, but who's going to be the back for blocking in a 3rd down passing situation.

Most likely Barber.
And first down rushing will probably be Barber as well.
So Felix will be a 2nd down back?

They will both be on the field in special packages.

3rd down you could still use Jones and Barber together with Jones going out on the passing routs. There are many different options and looks that the Cowboys can and I think will use to take advantage of Felix ability.

Felix isn't a dummy and he works and studies very hard, so I doubt the pass protection schemes will be a problem for him.

I'm not knocking his pass catching ability or quick strike, big play out of the backfield, but he isn't exactly known as a blocker.

I seem to remember that the 7 reps at 225 during the combine was an accounting error... right? right?

Please someone confirm that!

Jaime Dukes of NFL Total Access just said that Felix Jones will have the best rookie impact this coming season.

Correct. :) He didn't bench at the combine, and got 13 at his Pro Day.

I'm a little concerned about Jones getting on the field as well. Rookies traditionally have trouble picking up the blitz. That's not because they don't care, yada; its because they have to not only do it properly but they have to pick the right target. Even vets have trouble with it. Witten's weakest game is picking up the blitz when he's in an h-back role. If he has trouble with it imagine how hard it really is esp for a rookie.

They are going to have to use him ala Dorsett IMO. Screens, draws, and sprint outs as well as sending him long. I think that is his role along with KRs.
