I’ve been calling for this for a long time. Hopefully, it comes to fruition.

NFL may allow defensive backs, linebackers, running backs to wear single-digit numbers

The NFL is considering a rule that won’t necessarily change the game on the field, but will change the way the game looks, and a rule that players have long advocated for: Loosening the restrictions on jersey numbers, including allowing more players to wear single-digit numbers.

Good. Let DL wear numbers in the 80s again, as well.

When I was a kid and you wanted to be WR you had to pick your favorite 80s number...usually 80 or 88. Maybe because of Tony Hill and Drew

I just find it odd that they are running out of numbers, recently WR got access to 10-19 and had 80-89. What team is running around with 20+ receivers on a 53 man roster. TE you could always ***** them call them H-Backs and give them 40-49.

I like the current number scheme a lot of times I can look at the number and know the player position. But it's meh now I guess.

I wore #11 in JV as FB/LB/DE, wore #59 in Varsity as DE/LB and backup OG

some numbers become special and you have to retire them. ;)

Honestly I’m ok with it. See some linebackers wearing a number such as 9 would be cool to see. Cornerback wearing 2. Etc.

I can care less about the number as what the player wearing the number does. Wear 0 for all I care as long as you do well.
