Round 1
# 10 Zaven Collins MLB 6'4 260 lbs
Round 2
# 55 Alim McNeil 1/3 DT 6'2 320 lbs
Round 3
# 75 Israel Mukuamu CB 6'3 205

3rd round comp

Alaric Jackson OG 6'6 320 lbs - move to left guard from OT at Iowa. He could start over what Dallas currently has.

Round 4
Landon Dickerson C/G 6'6 315

Landon was one of the best C in college, I don't think his knee injury makes him drop to the 4th round. I love the attitude he brings to the line and his passion for the game is unbelievable. Loved how he convinced Coach Saban to have him take the last snap of the championship game a few days after his surgery.

Israel Mukuamu always intrigued me when I turn on the tape.

He IMO is perfect for Quinn’s scheme. If we stay mostly in cover 3 and he can stay in his third, he can be dominant. He lacks fluidity and can get caught up changing directions. But I believe he is the perfect specimen for Quinn’s defense.

Remember the two most successful corners in Quinn’s scheme were Sherman (6’3) and Brandon Browner (6’4)

Agreed. Landon will be a late 2nd rounder at worse. This kid can play Center or Guard at a high level and looks for contact whether his assignment or helping cleanup a blocking assignments with teammates. Very playful attitude that can come off as childish but overall, I can't say enough great things about this kid while at Bama.

Despite the OL investments Dallas has made inthe past with both 2 Conners, Tyler Biadasz, I wish like hell Dallas can pick Dickerson up inthe draft because our team will flourish with him on this OL unit in Big D.

He is available there in the 4th. I imagine because of all the surgeries he had at Florida and then a new ligament injury a couple weeks ago. He would have a red shirt first year.

I dont see what the hype is with Collins, and especially at 10.
6’4 260lbs and moves like a smaller linebacker. Can play every linebacker position on any defense yeah the hype on him makes no sense.

I don't think any of this is true. He runs heavy, and isn't going to be able to cover downfield - carrying a TE down the seam, for instance.

Maybe he's Dont'a Hightower, but I'm not drafting him at 10.

We will see April 29, 2021.

Hes got some picks off deflections but he does not move like Parsons or Bolton. Hes bigger than Tank and Gregory were coming into the NFL

Collins won two awards for best defensive player of the year.

Besides that, I think when you run cover 3 having 2 6'4 linebackers at 260 that clog up those passing lanes and still have agility to blitz and shoot gaps effectively againt the run are rare. Imagine LVE and Collins doing that with a very good 1 DT in front. The defense will go from a joke to smoking RBs.

Combine will tell us about Collins athleticism, his movements look awkward because he is so huge.

Damn. Didn’t realize we were thinking pretty much exactly the same way.

Zaven Collins in a tradeback into the 20s yes. Earlier no.

He reminds me of LVE. Looked elite in a trash Conference vs. Burger Flippers.

I want my defense starters to come from powerhouse colleges who played NFL caliber opponents.

Atleast if you pick them in the first rounds.

Point taken but Brian Urlacher was from the University of New Mexico. Butkus was from University of Illinois. You dont need to be dogmatic about it.

With both CBs gone Id prefer a trade back too. Drafttek's mock has Collins going at 18. He could climb higher after the combine. Again with cover 3 having two 6'4 linebackers helps clogs up passing lanes besides be imposing run stoppers.

True but Urlacher and others are the exception not the standard. Good Teams dont hope for Jackpot Hits and Gems you find every 10 years from small schools.

Chance is you can look All-Pro in a bad conference on a bad team if your that much more talented than the other guys.

But how would LVE or Collins would have looked at Ohio State or Bama?

Are they the exception based on what data? AllPro selections and schools? Starting LBs in the league?
Good teams dont hope for jackpot hits? The legion of boom had a Seattle defense that was full of late round hopefuls/gems not in any major power conference. All Pro Linebackers 2020
