Has anyone noticed the new NFL network commercials making Dallas fans look like redneck *** holes? They did the one with the Skin fan neighbors for a couple weeks and I just saw one where this redneck cowboy fan waitress ****s with some nice looking Philly fans. I don't care for the commercials too much. Thoughts?

Directv did the same with Pats and Packers fans.

It paints football fans as xenophobic bigots, so no it's not my cup of tea, either.

I love those commercials. I really like the Dolphins/Patriots one.

Was just thinking the same thing. Not only is the waitress a hag and the restaurant a 1970s dump, but that customer at that bar looks like the biggest degenerate methhead redneck ever.

And squeezing a wet rag in their drinks is something Philly fans would do, not our fans.

Oh well, what do you expect.

Me being from Texas, with somewhat of a Texas drawl found them to be pretty funny. Didn't see anything wrong with the commercials. Hell, I'm proud to be from Texas, and a Dallas Cowboys fan.

I grew up in Coppell TX and like you I am proud to tell the northerners I now live with that I am a Texan. It's just that those commercials remind me of a Family Guy rendition of Texas if you know what I mean.

I totally get ya. I cannot stand Seth McFarland's depiction of Texas in his Family Guy cartoons. Or the south in general. Classless if you ask me.

But the NFL Network commercials, I'm okay with.

The old guy in the wheelchair is perplexing. I guess the youngish wife is supposed to be a gold digger?

Yep. Just waiting for her old husband to croak so she can cash in. At least that is what I got out of it.

Gold digger: "Right baby?" Old guy: "Hhheeeehhhh."

An oil tycoon maybe? I like the little moan he gives out. Reminds me of the movie The Skeleton Key.

Yeah, at first I thought he was the Skins fan, and just couldn't do anything about Troy Barkman because he was in a wheelchair. But I guess she's supposed to be an Anna Nicole Smith type.

Or Youngish fish is Anna Nicole Smith the not so good looking version?

I liked the Dolphins/Pats commercial.

Other than the dog part, I didn't really find the Troy Barkman commercial funny.

What if they had re-named the dog Darren Barkson? Would that have helped?:

I actually liked Troy Barkman. I wish all dogs would learn to do what he does, expect include the Ealge and Giant fans as well. Thank way Barkman will have options :)
