Has anyone heard if the Broncos-Chiefs game on NFL Network will be in HD on Directv?

This leads me to ask..

I have NFL Network on DirecTV. I have a HD-capable TV and the HD package for DirecTV...so I get HBO, TNT, ESPN, yadda yadda in HD. I see NFL Network advertised as being in HD but don't get that. Am I missing something? Is that not an option for me in HD? Is there anything I can do?

We're in the same boat, Dale. I get the Sunday Ticket Super Fan to get the games in HD, but NFL network is not an HD feed for me..nor listed as one in the channel categories.

I know some cable carriers carry the NFL Network HD feed as well as the non-HD feed, and so does Echo Star, DirectTv's biggest competitor.

I did call DirectTv a while ago to continue my endless whine and was told that the 8 games the NFL network has rights to will be shown on NFL Network channel 95 in HD. I guess a lot of folks have been complaining that they upgraded to Direct TV HD and have to shell out 100 bucks extra for Super Fan in addition to Sunday Ticket and STILL aren't getting every game in HD.

If it weren't for the Sunday Ticket, I'd RUN back to cable. All my local major network channels are in HD, but cheap DirectTV is still negotiating the rights to them, while cable subscribers already have..meanwhile DTV subscribers pay for an Hd receiver, an Hd program, and have to settle for 9000 reruns of Law and Order on TNT if they want to actually SEE HD programming.

If your not in a big market it stinks to have directv, then again you cant watch all the cowboys games.

I believe like you said the nfl network hd game will be on 95 on directv.

Directv is great for me though here in DFW because we get the local stations in HD from directv, and they are going to have more channels available in hd next year.

The thing I hate is that the NHL and MLB are not available in an HD package. IF the center ice package had HD I would get it in a second. Dish network has that though and it drives me crazy. Hockey is fantastic in HD and looks terrible on an HD tv from a standard broadcast.

Anyway, latuna I would imagine you can put up a good quality off air antenna and get your local channels in HD or petition directv for the nyc and los angeles local channels.

I get my local feeds off the dish as well, and I'll be damned if we have to go to any more trouble to get HD service everyone with cable already gets. My locals did go HD, but dtv is trying to lowball them.

I appreciate the advice tho.. and did try to get the nyc and LA feeds back (I had them before I got the locals from directtv)..no go.

Sunday Ticket - completely held hostage by it. ;)

Try this:
In the back of your HD DirecTV box there is an "off air antenna" coaxial plug.
Hook up a pair of Rabbit ears to it and run a scan for off air channels and you'll get all the local channels in HD,along with a bunch of extra channels.

Its beautiful...if you havent try it,do so.

You're welcome.
This is how is set up:Here FOX is channel 29 after the scan I tune to 29-1 and its HD.same with CBS,ABC and NBC.
Also if you go to your remote menu, you can check the strenght of the off air antenna signal and improve your picture.
Just go to set up,antenna set up and there you can do all kinds of things.

Channel 95 it is. Thanks everyone! I was worried about those games. So far, I have seen every Dallas game this season in HD.

I'm living here in the Richmond Metro area and I have Comcast cable and I see the same advertisement about the NFL Network being broadcasted in HD, and they always say ask your provider about it, but Comcast acts dumb about it....go figure!

Yea that is a bunch of BS I have Comcast as well. We pay extra money for the HD channels you would think they would add the ones available.

So have I and I have been worried about this as well. I have Superfan from DirecTV and am hooked on the HD games. I sure hope that they put all of the NFL Network games on there. I sent them an email a few months back on it, but they were very evasive.
