JJT on nbc5 at 6:30 said he was told tonight that he will be a game time decision and they are hoping he will play. Said they want to see how he feels tomorrow.

I made the mistake of pointing this out on twitter to one of these know it all cowboys bloggers and he told me no one has said he is a game time decision and he has his own sources and did his own digging in the situation.

I didn’t even respond. I have zero patience with this group that needs to be the insiders. Nearly 100 % of them live like a 1000 miles away. People mentioning sources makes me shake my head.

Playing a backup tackle doesn't have to kill the team, but the Cowboys have shown no ability to adjust to player losses. It will always hurt you SOME, but in the Garrett regime it always results in DISASTER and no good team will do that.

At the beginning of the season, if I had to pick the most important players on this team, they’d be Zeke, Tyron Smith, Sean Lee, Dak and Bailey. We’re down four of the five.

This is the root issue. All teams spout the "next man up" phrase, and backups are expected to have some level of competence.

But the obvious truth is that backups are backups for a reason, and all good coaching staffs make some adjustments to cover up the weaknesses of the backup. Thus, our staff makes no changes. Let's see how many more bruises we have on our forehead banging it into the same wall Sunday night.

I don't have to give you hope. This isn't the Browns or 49ers.

This is a division opponent and very few times is it a blow out no matter the record or talent level.

Why have the eagles played well this season? Mainly the opposition hasn't been very good but look more deep then that. Perhaps you haven't watched them play so I will help you.

Eagles play well cause if their defense ability to cause turnovers, especially in the redzone allowing their offense to have around 20 yards or less for a TD. Already in FG range even without gaining a yard....... What do we do well on offense? Not turn the ball over. That's going to be huge.

Eagles aren't methodical, they big up big plays in both the passing game and run game....... What does Dallas do well? Keep plays in front of them, rarely is Dallas beat over the top. The key here will be to tackle. Number 1 we must do is stop the run, I'm guessing they get around 100 rushing but Hitchens and Wilson will have huge games.

Eagles are pretty decent on special teams...... What does Dallas do well? Have one of the best punters in the game. He excels at pinning teams deep and add to the fact you have Frazier and company that can get down field and cover points, I say that works in Dallas favor.


Now I know what your going to say....Our LT can't block, our run game is no good, Byron and Jaylon are trash. Well i think Byron is very solid, you look at Heath who will be out and has been a liability. Woods and Awuzie will be an upgrade. Bell will be starting at LT like, not Green, add that to what happened last week will not happen this week by giving up 8 plus sacks. Hitchens, Wilson and possibly Durant will get the most time at LB.

My final thought and I will leave you with this, Eagles secondary isn't very good outside of Jenkins at safety. We will be able to pass on these guys, Rod Smith looked dangerous last week catching the ball.

You can give up hope all you want. To claim it's unrealistic to win this game is silly and foolish. Could we lose it? Yes we could but we also have a great chance to win it. Not only that we play better with our backs against the wall and I know Dallas has been marking this game in their calendar. Perhaps they overlooked Atlanta in the process.

I'm willing to bet we will win this game. I will take the points but I think we win outright. Dak is the better QB and that always gives us a chance

Hope that you’re right and I’m wrong. I don’t dispute anything that you said about the Eagles. And I’m not down on our secondary or defense in general - it’s simply a different defense without Lee. Dak isn’t the same QB when Chaz Green is inviting defensive linemen into the backfield.
