Basically all this does is allow teams to activate a QB and go over the game day active list by one. What would have made an impact is allowing the emergency QB to be on PS. Not many teams carry 3 QB and if you wanted to do it you’d have to send someone else to PS and call them up. If I’m not mistaken some players qualify to be sent to PS without going through waivers though
Right. The fact that you have to carry an extra one on the 53 in order to use this rule makes it harder to use. There are times when carrying three QBs on the 53 is just not practical. They should be allowed to be carried on the PS and be called-up three times as the emergency QB. Like it is right now, after three times the team would have to decide whether to add them permanently to the 53 or add a different QB to the PS. It still wouldn't allow the team to just stash a QB on PS because of the limited call-ups and having to pass them through waivers first. Of course, you could risk a vet since he doesn't have to go through waivers, but he's also free to sign elsewhere.

The old saying that a camel is a horse designed by a committee is proven yearly by the NFL.

That would be perfect
That’s 53rd spot is a young guy you want to develop. That’s rarely a QB
I think around a 3rd of the league carried 3 QB last year.

I just think they should have a 53 man suited roster... No game day rosters for 46 or 47 or whatever. If you have 53 players, you have 53 players ready to go. They increased the amount of games, but not the amount of players really.
