"The Cowboys have their best scoring margin through two games since the 1970 merger (a whopping +60 points), even better than in the Super Bowl seasons of 1971 and 1995. Defensively, they’re pretty bonkers, forcing seven turnovers and allowing one touchdown in 120 minutes of football. The offense clearly can do more, only converting half its red-zone possessions into touchdowns. But for as many nits as we can pick on that side of the ball, the balance has been good. The physicality has been excellent. The efficiency has been very solid. It’s hard to complain about what Mike McCarthy and Brian Schottenheimer have schemed up, even if the passing game has been a little safe with big leads."

ESPN: 1.) San Francisco 2.) Dallas Cowboys - "The Cowboys picked up his fifth-year option for 2024 but would like to sign him to an extension sooner rather than later. The price to do so is only going to go up, and they will have Micah Parsons, Dak Prescott and some others to consider signing to extensions as well, which will stress their cap. Lamb has 15 catches for 220 yards in two games this season and is clearly Prescott's go-to guy. There are six receivers currently making at least $24 million a year, and for the Cowboys to get a deal done now, Lamb's yearly average will have to be more than that. Maybe a lot more. – Todd Archer

NFL.com: ESPN: 1.) San Francisco 2.) Philadelphia 3.) Kansas City 4.) Dallas Cowboys -

CBS Sports: 1.) San Francisco 2.) Dallas Cowboys -
"The defense has been dominant in two games. The offense hasn't been asked to do that much, but when you give up 10 points in two games, it doesn't need to do much." – Pete Prisco

USAToday: 1.) San Francisco 2.) Philadelphia 3.) Dallas Cowboys -
"Can't do better than winning your first two games, even if the triumphs came against New York, New York – the overmatched Giants and post-Rodgers Jets. But credit America's Team, just the fifth in the Super Bowl era (since 1966) to score at least 70 points while allowing no more than 10 collectively in its first two outings." – Nate Davis

No. Disrespect is Jets ranked ahead of Cinci.

The media is based on stories. SF beats us two years in a row in the playoffs and Eagles won the division last year. It will all shake out, but odd to have the highest scoring offense and lowest scoring defense and be considered 4th. Giants and Jets both won their other games.

Cowboys ranked 4th is very disrespectful.

They should be ranked 2nd at worst. Dominated in 2 out of 2 games this year. If Dallas played Philly or KC right now Dallas would win by a TD.
I have no problem with being ranked 4th. Both the Eagles and Chiefs are the most recent SB teams, and the Boys have lost to the Niners two years running. Keep them at 4th until after the games against San Francisco and Philadelphia later this season. The Chiefs have earned their spot with their 5 years run as a top 4 team twice, a top 2 team once, and the top 1 team twice.

Make the Cowboys earn it. With 13 new starters this season, I think they can do it. But they still need to earn the respect. No coronations here. The Cowboys must conquer to become King of the Mountain.

Sure but we are talking this season and their offense has struggled. And this is why I hate rankings. It is about this season, not last season.
I get it. Just saying, they haven't lost and it's going to be tough to change some people's minds until someone can knock them off. We get our chance to leap over them in a couple weeks by beating rhe niners

I'm okay with us being underrated and disrespected. That just makes this team angrier and play even better.

Absolutely disrespectful to only be ranked #4 by the NFL writers. Then again, Roger Badell is surrounded by a bunch of Cowboys hating ex-Eagles.

was going to comment that they should be higher but it is what it is, until I saw the Eagles above them. THAT is absolutely disrespectful
