The penalty on T.O. TD celebration was just crazy. I am so sick of the NFL not allowing these guys to have fun. I understand not allowing them to use props but come on. Let em have some fun

they said it was because he went to a knee. so how come Burress doesn't get flaged for his prayer after he scores a td?

What I think is wrong, is their total hypocrisy regarding celebrations. They ban, penalize and fine them, but you can guarantee the good ones are used in their commercials, and promotions.

I agree. I don't see what is wrong with the celebrations. It added some fun to the game.

You are correct thats what sells FUN!

I'm not talking about selling anything. I just think its crazy not to let these guys enjoy themselves. The fans enjoy it as well. As long as its not disrespectfull whats the harm?

As crazy as it is, that's a great point. If I were a player I think I would take the league to arbitration for fining me $15,000 for a celebration and then turning around and making more money off of it by using it to promote the league. The irony.

If you aint selling there wont be as many fans....... take all the fun out of balling and charge outragious prices and see what you'll end up with.... just saying we need more of White Shoes Johnson not less

No argument from me :D

No Fun League is for sure. Why not let them celebrate. I am tired of hearing about how players should act like theyve been there before, it is an emotional game and I for one like the little celebrations. I doubt I am in the minority. I thought the game was about entertaining the fans, let em entertain us. Geez!

As long as it is quick and doesnt disrupt the flow of the game I dont get the problem.

I really think this is just another example where the FEW are louder then the majority so they cant their way.

I'm tired of the NFL and the NCAA getting all bent out of shape over celebrations. For goodness sakes people it's a game, and people are fired up, let them friggen celebrate. It doesn't hurt anyone.

Note to TO... "act like you've been there before"

I like TO's overall approach to the game and practice but his continual selfish need for attention needs to end. Time for him to grow up & stop with these selfish, dumb, unnecessary and potentially costly penalties.

Actually, when Sherman was explaining it to him on the sideline, he actually looked a little puzzled... like he didn't know about it. Who really knows? Generally T.O. knows and is proud of the penalty... he didn't really look that way yesterday.

Noone cares if he looked puzzled or sad.

It is selfish and unnecessary.

Tuck the ball away, hand it to the ref whatever stop making a mockery of yourself and spotting the other team near the 50.

Hey man, I didn't say I liked the penalty, I said that I don't think that he meant to get a penalty. I think he thought his celebration was pretty watered down so I don't think he expected a penalty. BTW, a penalty which was assessed not because he celebrated, but because his hands touched the ground during the celebration. That's a little silly. He wasn't break dancing in the end zone.

Lets be clear noone thinks he WANTED TO BE PENALIZED.

If he did then i'd actually be a little less upset. That would demonstrate that he has actual cognitive ability after scoring.

Lets stop blaming the NFL and others and take responsibility for our actions. That is you Wade and you TO.

Ok fine, so you don't think he meant to be penalized, and yet this upsets you? And if he TRIED to get penalized on purpose, you wouldn't be angry?

Your reasoning doesn't make a lot of sense, but I'll go with it for arguments sake.

I don't think anyone in the forum is blaming the NFL for penalizing people for legitimate reasons, I think we are all trying to say that the NFL has really just went overboard with penalizing every little ounce of a celebration, and then has the hypocrisy to use that same "negative action" in their commercials and NFL movies to promote the game.

If what the players are doing is so negative, why do they use those same infractions to their monetary benefit? It just seems a little absurd and hypocritical.

Long story short, the NFL just really needs to chill out and let the players have a little fun. And NO I don't mean that the players should be able to do anything that they want, I simply mean that they need to at least let them have good clean fun by celebrating. If it stays short and sweet and non-violent and non-confrontational I really just don't understand all the hype.

I agreed with the no props rulings, but this is getting ridiculous. I sure hope it never comes down to what happened in college this week in the NFL. Guy scores a TD and throws the ball up in excitement and it cost them the game. The NFL seriously needs to review this rule and make it more reasonable.

Yes it does.

Until then TO needs to control himself beyond pre-schooler levels.
