NFL officiating is horrible and costing teams

A billion dollar industry and the part time feckless refs are blowing calls right and left and costing teams playoff berths and games. Mark my words, if Dallas loses Monday night it very well may be to blown calls, spotting errors, and turning a blind eye to the plethora of holds on Parsons and other pass rushers. It really is very bad and there was an article on this recently. It is a travesty and that is why Goodall should be fired immediately. The ghost of Dez is upon us.

Yes, getting ahead of it. It is coming, believe me. Officials are are simply ignoring holding calls against pass rushers en masse.

Who knows what to expect? Which Cowboys team shows up, which officiating crew shows up? Heck, Tampa has been inconsistent this year. Tomorrow is a total crap shoot.

One of the issues is these refs have absolutely no accountability. That is a problem. What is going to happen to those refs in the LA/Seattle game? Absolutely nothing.

I also wish the refs were full time but games are only once a week so I kind of get why they aren't.

How many times do we hear the next days that so many of these calls were admitted to be wrong? Way too many. NFL is now on par with how bad the NBA refs are, and they already had scandals with refs manipulating games with their calls. I fully believe that happens in the NFL and really any sport.

Right, some of the "missed" PI calls in the Jags-Chargers game were egregious. The lack of fulltime referees is plausible deniability whenever the NFL higher ups want to influence a game from New York.

I hope that the refs call a clean game in these playoffs, because if they don't... what is the point of the playoffs, really? Yesterday did not instill confidence.

Maybe the officiating can be improved, but it won't ever be perfect. The game is too fast, the rules are too complex and humans are falliable. It is what it is.
Also... it ISN'T what it ISN'T.... any resemblance to professional.

Referees should be full time, year round, not part-time thinking about anything else besides football until Sunday morning.
HATE that easy solution to a much deeper problem....so what are they gonna do for the other 7 months....sit in a classroom watching film? That will NOT cure a damn thing if they were a bad hire to begin with and are inherently bad and easily influenced by their surroundings.

People hate on nba refs. They are, by far, the best refs in sports I watch. The NFL has to get fill time, better trained, pros, and they must be obligated to explain anycontroversial calls post game.

This is the world we live in today. If you don’t win then the other team or person cheated or the refs to blame. No one is taking responsibility that you just loss. So with that being said since I did not win the mega millions on Saturday as they did not pick my numbers, then it was stolen from me and they cheated. I mean I was only 6 numbers off and if they would have picked my numbers then I would be rich (sarcasm)

Another pre-emptive "it's the ref's fault" thread, in case the Cowboys lose.
TIAA was full of boos last night in the first half about a couple of PIs that weren't called. I think the fans overreacted on a few and had a legit beef on one or two also

Point being, other than Pederson getting in the refs ear a bit here and there, the jags just kind of went about their business and started executing at a higher level and made a comeback for the ages. They looked inward at themselves instead of outwardly toward the refs.

Contrast this with Dak openly praising fans for dumping trash on the refs and our fans starting numerous pre-emptive threads this past week about the possibility of an officiating conspiracy against the cowboys and you begin to understand why one and done has become the rule instead of the exception around here come playoff time

Laughable

I don’t think you’re right. Full time and accountable. Pay them well and let them have 8 months off a year. Make it a coveted and appreciated job that has accountability…make that mandatory and public.
