Once again, a team with a losing record will get a home playoff game over a team with a much better record. Tampa Bay or Carolina, both 8-9 will host a 12-5 team, either SF or the Rams.
I believe this happeded to us a few years back when we traveled to TB to play Brady and the Bucs.
Maybe reward divisional champions with a trophy, t-shirts and hats. Playoffs will be decided per conference standings.

You have to go back prior to 1967 for a time that only the best teams made the playoffs. As soon as divisions were introduced, it's not only about the best records. Winning a division gets you in for that reason alone. Besides, home field shouldn't be a big difference maker for an 8-9 team.

I do agree that a losing team does not deserve a home game
if your division sucks that bad there should be a price for it

100%

We need to get away from division seeding and do overall conference standings like the NBA.

The divisions are completely unintelligible at this point anyways. The Cowboys have more business being in the NFC South than they do the East.

If the league is interested in putting the best product out there, then you want to see the best teams competing against each other in the post season, not some barely .500 “division winner.”
