Nfl is having a record year of passing stats where even average QBs are looking better than Hall of Famers...

Except the Dallas Cowboys.

Why is that?

Terrible offensive scheme and coaching plus not a very good passing QB who is slow to read defenses and has a confidence problem throwing downfield.

That about sums it up.

I think Dak could become a better player if he had a forward thinking, innovative coach who knew how to scheme receivers open and be a creative offensive mind.

But with Garrett and Linehan, Dak is what he is....maybe the 15th or 20th best QB in the league.

Put the 2 together and this is what we get.

Yep they're just a bad match. Conservative QB with conservative coach get conservative results.

All the rules favor the passing game.

The Aaron Rodgers rule seems to finally burst the dam when added to the Brady rule, the defenseless reciever rule, etc etc

When guys try to compare different era qbs, this is the reason why it shouldn’t be done.

It’s a passing league. The rules have been changed to promote big numbers, higher scores, and more wide out and qb Protection.
This
You have to compare QBs to those in the same era.
It's WAY easier to have a QB rating of 100 now than just few years ago. And it was easier then, than it was 20 years earlier.

Of course, no doubt

So why does Dallas suck so bad at it

go figure...in a passing league the boys want to build a team that relies on the power running game.

Dak sucks.

Rarely hits a wr on the move-
Dak is most comfortable hitting wr on comeback routes-
Has zero anticipation of where a wr's route takes him-
Doesn't seem to read defenses-
Not confident enough to call/ change plays as needed before the snap-
