There was the comment that the first guy Cassel told them he was worried about was Spencer, not Ware. I missed that somehow during the game.

Right when Spencer sent Cassel flying when he didn't even try to hit him hard.

We haven't talked about it, I don't think, but wonder why Ball was in so much? I mean way before Newman got dinged late in the game. He's in there a lot of the game -- looks like at a nickel safety, I guess in place of Watkins.

No, they're both in there at the same time... Ball must be at a safety because all three corners are in there.

Yes he was sunday, But I think scandrick has been coming in and playing that safety spot from time to time, I was wondering if ball was playing his role while scandrick maybe played sensebaugh's?

Yes he was sunday, But I think scandrick has been coming in and playing that safety spot from time to time, I was wondering if ball was playing his role while scandrick maybe played sensebaugh's?

I havent rewatched the game yet, I need to look closer.

Hmm... It looks like Newman and Jenkins at CB with Scandrick in the slot and Ball back at S with Hamlin.

Interesting twist... When Newman got dinged, then Ball had to play corner and Watkins was at S when they scored on that final play to tie it. Makes you wonder if Ball plays that any better than Watkins did if Newman is in at corner on that play and Ball is able to be in there. Maybe?

BTW, for those that missed it, Kristi Scales said Newman was trying to go back in the game on that final drive when the trainer literally took his helmet and made him go do more concussion tests with the doc.

And one more thing... I have no idea how Mosley downgraded Jenkins in this game. Looks like he's played really well to me. Nice breakup on their second drive in OT. If he doesn't make that play, they only need about eight more yards for a FG.

I wish this defense had 11 Brookings instead of one. That is one offseason pickup that I'm happy with.

All 3 FA pickups on defense have been pretty dang good IMO.
