NFL Schedule Release Still not Set

A couple of weeks ago I posted a comment that said, "Bet on April 15th" as the date for the schedule to be released. That is tomorrow and it is not happening. I had hopes it was coming tomorrow,

No dice.

The NFL previously said sometime in Mid April. I expect it to be announced April 29th. Two weeks form tomorrow. If not then, I suspect it will be one week later on May 6th, 2 days before the Draft.

That isn't mid April. I know this. We all know this. But for some reason the NFL does not have a set date to get the Schedule done. I think that's crazy, but it is always amazing how they can not have a set date, announce it last minute, and still be the biggest story in the sports world. Football just rules.

So, you may be asking why I keep predicting a date on a Tuesday. April 15, April 29th, and May 6th are all Tuesdays. Simple answer is, the last 4 or 5 years the schedule has always come out on a Tuesday. Does this mean it will? No, but I am giving you my best guess.

Why not April 22nd then? I am just being pessimistic (yes me) that they're going to keep us dangling longer. No other reason.

Revealing which division team plays us in Week 17 is the biggest announcement of the year. The two teams that don't make that game are automatically eliminated from the playoffs in April. I should have went straight to Vegas when I found out that 4-12 Philly was in that game...

they know who they are playing, I could care less when....not busting the chops of the OP, just stating my opinion...I know I will be watching all 16 of them and hope that there are several more after that...

...and to the OP, I wonder if Tuesdays are typically the slowest news day of the week for the NFL so they have to do something to get that day more exposure...the NFL is a marketing machine and Tuesdays there is ALWAYS a full schedule on the MLB docket....all baseball teams play on Tuesdays, weather permitting...so, when you flip on ESPN, you want to see something "NFL" at the bottom of the scrolling messages, right? they don't want the MLB to have all the fun, and, they can use people wanting to see the scores of their favorite team to their advantage

Nfl network had a commercial tonight saying schedule release coming soon. So this sounds about right. Plus like hos said it will probably be on a tue.

I'm not surprised. I thought it was going to be later this year because the draft is in May. Do they not announce the schedule a week before the draft usually anyway?
