Imagine what teams heading into playoff may start doing and giving premium picks to obtain that "missing piece". This will definitively increase interest of all fans and media. Furthermore, increase true value of player being traded. Bad teams may get rewarded with premium picks for moving players.

Only major obstacle is the salary cap of course......

Yeah, no one wants to play good football all season then have another organization put together a super team, that beats you out in the playoffs.

Getting a little of topic, I think you should be able to use your full 53 if you get your team to the postseason.
