NFL Sunday Ticket, a popular sports package provided by DirecTV, will be offered as a standalone subscription for the first time in 2014, letting users who do not subscribe to DirecTV service access NFL Sunday Ticket games on their Macs and iOS devices.

Though no announcement has been made, a promotional page noticed by AppleInsider details DirecTV's new standalone plan, which provides full NFL Sunday Ticket access starting at $199.99.

Putting rumor in the title until someone verifies this is true. Seems a bit sketchy.

They've had it before. I ordered the online access couple years back, and it came with madden last year.

Watched the Seattle game in 2012 on my iphone as I was fixing my comp that dumped on me a few hours before the game.

Price looks better, though.

As a Cowboys fan, I just don't see the need to invest $199 since the Cowboys are on national TV a good bit of the time. Of course, I live in Florida. I know AZ and other western states don't get Cowboys games as much.

Just a heads-up for those that don't have Sunday Ticket, and will have to stream it. No matter how fast your Internet is, you're going to have a poor experience in week one, it's really slow due to it being the free week.

Somehow I doubt that it is that easy for everyone.

I'm almost certain when I signed up it was online and basically just had to agree to the TOS.

Didn't even talk to anyone. They aren't going to turn down a sub. Perhaps at one point they could hold people to it, but online streaming is so readily available that the ultimatum of "gimme the online access or give me nothing" will probably do the trick.

They get hundreds of thousands of subs. I doubt the even check at all. It would be entirely self-defeating.

You can't force service if you catch someone, you're more likely going to lose that customer, and you can't even corroborate any claim in the first place.

Sure. But not really relevant to the actual availability of the service.

I'm of the school of "whatever it takes" when it comes to my Boys. I can't count the number of viruses of contracted on my computer viewing games not on TV. First I'll have to subtract the number of nationally televised games and go from there.:D
