I have a friend that moved from Ca to Texas about 9 months ago. There is no state income tax, but his property taxes are more in Texas than Ca. and I agree.... yeah, I may pay more for some things, but I am 10 minutes from a lake for my jet skis, 1hr away from a ski resort, and 2 hours away from the pacific ocean. Ill stay where Im at.

Up until two years ago this was me.. Then I moved to Fort Worth and not only did my mortgage go down a grand a month but I stopped having to pay for The Ticket. The worst thing about the Ticket was that when the Cowboys were good they would have like 10 or 11 national games so I was really paying the extra $300 for 5 or 6 games. I felt like a rube but I didn't want to miss games .. so I paid the freight. I don't know how the streaming stuff is going to work but unless I'm traveling for business I won't have to care.. I love livin in Texas!!! But I will miss the ability to scout all the other teams when the Cowboys aren't on.

I'm in NJ and we get most Cowboys games. Last year only the games against Atlanta and the Bengals weren't televised. It's like that every year. Add one more game at most. I'll either try to find a stream or go to a bar for the remaining games. No way I'm getting Sunday ticket.

Probably because I get both Giants and Eagles games every year. Then any Monday night, Sunday night, Thursday night, Thanksgiving, and any games of the week. Add the Jets every 4 years. As far back as the early 90s I don't remember having to go to the bar that often.

Property tax rate is higher but the property values are much higher California. In any case, property tax is usually a pittance compared to income tax. In California, the top rate is 12.3% and anyone with a decent job is paying over 10%. That is insane. I don't know how anyone starting off their career in California can save any money. I know doctors who can only afford to rent and literally live paycheck to paycheck. Nobody can argue California is beautiful with amazing weather, but there is a steep price for it.
