What's up fellas,
quick question here. I just switched from dish network to direct TV.
I received an offer from direct that said i can make 11 payments of $23.55 for the Sunday Ticket.
What I am wondering is that a good deal or should I wait until the season gets closer to starting.
Any input would be very much appreciated!!

Depends on how much you love the draft and all that stuff, I'm sure they'll be all over it. Personally, I'd wait till the season was closer, cause you can get combine news on the internet very easily.

Wait until the season. You get better deals closer to the NFL season than if you do it now.

As for the deferred payment plan, that's really not a deal. You can negotiate that in August or September. Remember, direcTV wants you to purchase the package. It doesn't care how you divide the payments as long as you purchase the product.

The Sunday Ticket has nothing to do with the draft. That is the NFL Network.

The Ticket is over once the regular season ends.

The NFL Sunday Ticket doesn't cover the draft.

The NFL Network does. I don't think he was asking whether he should get direcTV now vs. later. I think he asked should he get the NFL Sunday Ticket.

I assume he already has direcTV.

The NFL Network and ESPN covers the draft. If you have direcTV you get those channels automatically.

Eleven payments is pretty good for someone that has a pretty tight budget and wants the NFL Sunday Ticket. I have NFL Sunday Ticket but I make about 5 payments or so and the price of those payments are alot higher that 23.55 per month...so, that would be good for people on a tight budget. You can save 23.55 per month pretty easily by just doing a few things differently on a daily basis...like pass McDonalds by and eat a Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich...don't by milk at a fast food store...cut down on smoking...save all your daily change, etc.

Good luck...with the NFL Sunday Ticket, you will never miss a game, any game of your choice!!

yes, that was my question. Would it be cheaper to purchase as the season got closer or make 11 payments??
I also read in the past where some of ya negotiated with direct and got great deals

Again, if you can afford a higher payment on a monthly basis you might get a better deal at the start of the season. Like tyke1 said, they don't really care how you pay, they just want you to pay...so it's really up to you. Wait and try and get a better deal at the start of the season, or start making the small payments now and have it done with...then enjoy the games.

Yup, you guys are right. For some reason I was thinking NFL Network was part of the package, maybe that's because I'm stuck with Time Warner and have neither the NFL Network or Sunday Ticket.

Well, aren't you the lucky one...:D

BTW, do you guys know if you can order just the Sunday Ticket by itself and no extra programing from DirecTV?

There is a basic package minimum to have DirecTV, and two year contract. If you don't already have DirecTV, but you plan on getting it for The Ticket, wait until closer to the regular season. Every year DTV runs a promotion of free premier programming for 3 months if you sign up for NFL Sunday Ticket. It helps offset the price of NFLST. Just remember to change your programming tier at the end of the 3 month freebie. The sticker shock when you see your bill (if you forget) is enough to give even the calmest of human beings a coronary.

Personally, I've had the ticket for 10 years. If you're just getting it to watch the Cowboys, it's worth it when they sucked, but not now that they are drawing a much better audience.

This year Dallas games were broadcast either nationally or locally like 12 out of 16 games. And I'm in upstate NY.

So I'm dumping the ticket for next year because it's just not worth $200.00+. I expect the Cowboys to be on every week again. And the times they aren't, I'll be at the local pub watching.

 What?! Boy, did they see you coming!!

All you have to do is make one phone call complaining about that price and they will negotiate a smaller price if you threaten to cancel! I pay $140.00 per year and I used to pay $180.00 per year until I made a phone call. Also, they gave me a 40.00 discount AND gave me 30 additional channels including the Military channel and some other cool channels that I never had before.

Remember, "the squeaky wheel gets the grease"!!

I guess it's guys like you that save ME some money, so for that, I say, "Thanks, dfense"!!

Being a new customer, it's going to be dificult to get any new deals out of them. You likley already signed a two year agreement to get a cheap dish or something like that, so they know you're not quitting any time soon. It never hurts to call and ask, but it's usually based on longevity as a customer as well as payment history.

As mentioned above, spreading it out over 11 payments takes the sting out a little bit, and having the Sunday Ticket is sweet.
