I think 1 game is too much. Penalty and fine, then move on.

I don’t know about his immediate reaction after the hit, but his postgame interview convinced me he was being sincere in his regret and wasn’t intending to hit Adams where he did.

I think the games suspended is excessive, but I think it is probably more about setting an example instead of really giving a fair punishment.

No doubt he seemed regretful and I'm sure after the fact he was remorseful for injuring someone, but that hit looked to have intent. Lead with his head down, crown of the helmet straight into the facemask, arms pretty much at his sides. It was either some of worst tackling form that you could find at the NFL level, or was frustration coming out and trying to put a good pop on someone.

Upon second thought I think you're right. He may have let the moment get the best of him.

Feel bad for Adams but I will be real about this and some people may hate me. Trevathan only received a penalty because Adams didn't get back up. I did see a helmet blow, but Adams was continuing to fight for extra yardage and he wasn't looking to go down. Those are the same blows most RB face every week. Travathan was doing his job. What should a defense do in that situation? Wait until he broke a tackle and then engage.

Refs should have blown it dead once his progress was stopped.
