So when you look at that list the thing that stands out to me is that all of these top players are on teams with defenses that are questionable at best. So are they leading the league in tackles because they are just playing the position so well or is it more due to the fact that the defense is on the field for extended drives leading to more opportunities to make tackles.

The annual Jaylon Smith award. Can be very misleading.

I will give Kendricks some credit part of the reason he has high tackle numbers is because he is instinctive and willing. More than can be said for some of our guys. He is a solid average player at this point in his career. Nothing wrong with that.

Nick Cross is a slot CB making an insane amount of tackles.

Wonder where Overshown would be if he hadn't been held out that one game.

Kendricks has been good. Not great. Like several have said, glad he’s here but he’s 32 and we need someone younger to be the future. Overshown has been a find but he’s not built to play the middle IMO. Liafau? Maybe?

The LB position is still a team need going into 2025 IMO.

With so many stats available nowadays, I’m sure they could come up with a stat on average yards gained per tackle. A LB playing off the LOS away from debris makes it easier to go sideline to sideline making tackles. But that’s after 5 to 7 yards gained. Jaylon Smith tactic.

As opposed to a LB like Overshown who likes to attack the LOS and plug gaps. May get less tackles due to fighting off blocks. But more impact plays that limit yards. Interesting to get those numbers, before I can say Kendrick’s is playing great.

They literally drafted Liufau to take over at mike.

I'm glad the Cowboys signed Kendricks because he is exactly what the defense needed at LB.

He has made a big impact and hope he he can play against the Lions.
He is a savvy vet who knows Zimners system. Not only is he playing well, he’s a great in the field cosch to the young guys

Highly instinctive LBs like Kendricks can make 7-10 tackles/game around the box well into their 30s. They just lose value as their range or lack there of becomes too much of an issue on perimeter stuff and in passing game.
But you pair Kendrick with a range finder like Overshown problem solved.
