NFL to increase international games

It's the same tactic so many entertainment industries have tried over the years ...

They've fail to be happy with the markets they have so they focus on other markets where they ultimately fail while alienating the markets they took for granted.

The NFL will eventually be nothing more than flag soccer.

They’ve pushed things to near the brink of being ridiculous sell outs.

I realize Roger’s only job is to show financial growth for the owners, but it’s going to have to stop somewhere for the “good of the game,” which is supposedly why the commissioner position exists.

As someone who lives in the UK and sees the obvious benefits of international games, I do also think that a full quota of 16 a season is a ridiculous idea.
8 is probably the right amount, 10 at a push…
The other 6-8 games can be played in cities in the US that haven’t got an NFL side, or maybe Canada as it’s so close..
Also maybe a few games in the massive college stadiums…

What is flag soccer?

Soccer, ice hockey, baseball, and basketball are all more “international” than American style football. Should the NFL just assume those sports will always be more popular around the world than their game? If NFL owners didn’t see value in these games they wouldn’t schedule them. Jerry is selling 66th Anniversary Cowboys keychains for $35. These owners know where to find money and they very much like money.

That game the Cowboys are playing in Brazil. Many fans will travel to Rio to see it. The same number of fans in the US will watch it as would if it were played at AT&T. Maybe more. And Brazilian TV has paid for the rights to broadca$t it in Brazil.

To players, who share in television revenue, a long plane ride is little price to pay for the potential reward.

I hate the international games but if you're going to do it, the most fair way would seem to be every team has to play one each season.
But that doesn’t really work if two teams are off to Mexico, and two others to Japan or Australia.
I think if they’re going to go to Australia every year, then maybe that game should be a full week before the rest of the opening games.

Yep. This is capitalism. We all signed up for it so what's the problem?
