Its a little slice of utter BS called the NFL Sunday Ticket ONLY on Direct TV. I live in NYC and can't just go freaking mounting a satellite on my building, let alone pray that I can point it in the right direction.

My brother just moved to Seattle, same problem, and the HD satelite is apparently like 3 times the size of the regular satelite, making mounting it for anyone in a rental that much harder. Jack*****.

My Dish is the same oval 3 LNB I always had. HD Equiptment is no bigger.

I am switching but not for that channel, for the NFL Ticket. I would never switch for a news station even if it is 24/7 the sport I love most. It just got too hard having cable then adding DTV for the football season so I broke down and bought a couple of good DVR boxes for it and am making the switch on the 1st for good. I remember when I first got Time Warner they were promising the Nfl Ticket in a "year or two", that was like 5-6 years ago. Final string came when DTV signed the monopoly. Which I totally hate. I hate being forced to go to DTV to see my football. I hate having to play Madden to play my football. I hate the monopolies that are starting to take over this league, whatelse can I say. Oh and I also hate when the Cowboys try to take one on the Super Bowl and everybody freaks out and then the next thing you know there's a salary cap! It's an Anti-Cowboy world I guess.

Probably because it is more than just Time Warner. Cox Communications doesn't carry it, at least in my neck of the woods. I'm sure there are others as well.
The Cox in my hometown does carry it and has for almost a year now. There is hope!

I sent Time Warner a e-mail the other day, when another poster on this board said his Comcast was being bought out by Time Warner. If you got Time Warner shoot them a e-mail. Here is the response I got. Some hopefully good news for us with Time Warner.

We are currently in negotiations with the NFL Channel. We are hoping to
add this very soon. Thank you for sharing your interest with us

On thier digital package or expanded basic? Mine you can only get it through digital. When I add 4 TVs in my house DirectTV is not only cheaper but has the Sunday Ticket as well.

Right now Cox is still my cable provider only because of high speed internet.

The NFL might have already offered this and was turned down. A lot of channels (including local TV stations) require payment from the cable company to show these channels. The NFL does not appear to be doing this with their NFL channel; they just want the channel added to the channel line-up. I have no idea why TW is playing hardball on this.
Some of the cable channels have to pay the cable company to get their channel included in the lineup. This usually changes once the channel is established and is proven to draw viewers. This is what happened with networks like USA but now the cable providers are paying them. The NFL might have to pony up some bucks to get their channel on the air.

Maybe the cable companies would be more willing if they weren't being nailed by the NFL/DirecTV deal. My cable company carries Baseball and NBA packages. Not surprisingly they also give top billing to TNT, TBS, and other channel directed to support of the same sports. If the NFL would open up it's license and allow Cable companies to broadcast all the games too, then they would jump on the NFL Network.
I couldn't care less about Sunday Ticket since I get to watch my favorite team every week. However, I'm a comcast subscriber who's having TW forced on me August 1 and I'm losing a channel I currently have because of it. I'm all for NFL forcing other cable companies hands. The wife and I were already prepared to find a less expensive place so that we can save more money for a home but finding a new apartment/condo that will allow me access to the directv signal is a must at this point. NFL Channel has replaced ESPN as my most watched network.

Just heard the first ad on the radio. Rich Eisen pops on talking about TW Cable and have number to call them and demand that they not drop NFL Network.
