Chain gang will still be there if needed
AgreedI dont think this will be as good as people think.
That's why we have eyes JEEBUSPut a chip in the ball ........ you will always know where it is at.
Do you have eyes in a pileup on the goal? That's why we have eyes JEEBUS

I see now why ranching hates you.
I do not like him either ........ but I can see why he stalks you ....... I tried to seriously reply to your thread, and you just say dumb crap.Lol you think I care if he hates me lol he must hate himself, is that what you guys just do, he hates people and you brag, what a life!!
Right, but what part of the ball? Both ends?Put a chip in the ball ........ you will always know where it is at.
The filaments can run through the entire ball .... and it would be easy to pull this up on a screen and see direction and height.Right, but what part of the ball? Both ends?
I’d assume the officials will still spot the ball. This would just replace bringing out the chains to measure.Ok, the chip in the ball will determine exactly the most forward position of the ball. But how do they know they are measuring the precise location when the player is down?
Point taken, but it could save a little time by removing the pomp and circumstance of the chain gang running out there to take a measurement. As we saw vividly in the playoff game w/Bills and Chiefs...refs often spot the ball where the dollar and agenda dictate.
So I don't think this rule will change much of anything.
He can get in line.I see now why ranching hates you.
The officials are still spotting the ball though, correct? The measurement in that case wasn’t the issue, it was the spot. After the Buffalo/Kansas City ACFCG, the league had to finally make this official.
When the CBS and Fox rules analysis guys both said Josh Allen got the 1st down, the league was under to much scrutiny to just sit by and do nothing.
