NFL versus Specter

As we've seen, Senator Arlen Specter has been chomping at the bit to crack down on the NFL over spygate. So what's the NFL do? They put his hometown Eagles on the NFLN when the NFLN and Comcast, Specter's biggest (legal) contributor, are at odds over carriage fees.

It was either incredibly stupid on the NFL's part, a shot across the bow, or a sign that the Cable/NFLN battle may be coming to an end soon.

I hope the last option is the one. I don't want to go to a sports bar for that last game at Texas Stadium.

I vote for the bolded option. :)

Off Topic...the radio here just said Arlen Specter's cancer has returned.

That's by far the harshest sanction Goodell has levied on anyone...

In the long run, I think the NFL wins the cable thing.... at least I hope they do...

As far as the Patriot cheating thing, congress has a legitimate issue in that the NFL has some anti-trust exemptions and has to adhere to guidelines set forth by congress. They are fully culpable and responsible to adhere to the rules set forth by their exemption...

In all fairness, however-if, let's say, WE made the Super Bowl instead of the Giants, Spector likely wouldn't even have said a peep over this whole Spygate thing.(Like PA's governor Ed Rendell, Spector also goes on WIP Mon mornings to talk about his Eagles. Of course, both have consistently been open about their hatred for the Cowboys as well)

That sucks. Hopefully they can remove it and everything goes well with him!

I know what the Patriots are rooting for.
