We all know how many claim the bias and the refs bias against Dallas.
We seen some poor calls again, such as that in the grasp BS call on Dak against the Rams. That was huge.

But the rating s were way up when Dallas started winning from mid season on. Then the playoffs even more so.

But what if these rating drop way off now that we are out of it. Does the NFL see this, then next season we start getting the calls that have hurt us so much in the past?

Or do we still get all these odd obscure calls against us.
Maybe this is a bit off topic for noe. But just wanted to toss it out there. See peoples opinions.
I know there are the take the high roads fans out there, that will claim it is not so. But it is so. :p

Wow, the pervasive belief in on the field conspiracies is widespread. The problem with NFL officiating is that the rules are too complex, they keep changing the rules, the game is too fast and the zebras screw up or assert themselves too much. The Collins in the grasp call was the wrong call, but part of the reason we get strange calls against us, is that we do strange things. When is the last time you saw an offensive lineman do that to his QB?

Agreed.

The root of all this is fans wanting an alibi for the team they can find comfort in. They find comfort in the notion that the all-powerful league/refs are conspiring against them. When we lose the “We wuz robbed!” notion surfaces to help soothe their souls because we’re helpless against these supposed nefarious forces and the outcome was predetermined and inevitable.

I'm not sure the bad officiating hurt Dallas so much. Dallas got beat and it never seemed close even when it was a one-score game. If anything, it seems the calls would have gone against the Rams to try to keep the game closer.

Dallas is going to get ratings no matter what

IMO no team that hasn’t been to a super bowl should get 5 prime time games a year

Dallas is just the nfl cash cow if screwing us over gets views they’ll do it, if screwing another team over in our favor gets views they’ll do it

No one is out to stick it to Dallas, the refs are just incompetent and getting worse every season with no thanks to the evolving rules and regulations.

This is why I’m positive the conspiracy theorists don’t watch any other games.

If they did they would bad call after bad call, horrible non-calls, head-scratchers, et cetera, which completely undermines the notion the league/refs are out to get the Cowboys.

The premise of the NFL being against its most marketable franchise is patently stupid.

Maybe if folks watched all 16 games of a few other teams with a vested interest in what happens to those teams in particular, there'd be similar "poor calls" that someone could determine is a "pattern" over the years. But to watch pretty much all Cowboys games and then act as if there's not a whole other NFL world out there with penalties and all is a tad myopic.

I can’t tell you how many games during our streak where we got a TON of calls for us. We would talk about them in the game threads. Honestly no one is out to get us! The refs just suck all around. It’s a league issue not a Cowboy issue. We inflict most of our wounds

I don't think the NFL and Goodell cares much for Jerry since he sued them over merchandise rights in the 90s, the Zeke stuff and JJ not wanting to extend Goodells contract. Since the Zeke situation and Goodells contract situation I believe there has been some bias against Dallas, but that could be my Cowboys tinted glasses. I do believe teams have gotten away with a high number of holds against Dallas the last couple of years. Hell the Rams got away with several(saw Lawrence tackled a couple times and saw a hold on Gurley's TD run). Is it a conspiracy or just poor officiating?

Everytime someone tells me Jerry is paying the refs off and that's how we win, I just say "if Jerry, the wealthiest owner of them all (or at least the one who will sink the most money in his team because they are so profitable) was paying the refs, we would have been to an NFC championship game since I was 7 years old. I turn 31 in 2 weeks." That shuts them up.

I don't really buy into conspiracy theories but then again, maybe the NFL knows the ratings will be good in the championship games and Superbowl regardless if the Cowboys are in them or not, then they just have incentive to ensure Dallas makes it as far as we did, but no further. In hindsight that hands to the face call on Byron and missed holding call on the 3rd down run were as detrimental as the no-catch call on Dez.

Then again, maybe if our D had shown up we would have won the game. Nah, it must be the refs.

I'm one to believe the craziest conspiracy theories, but I haven't noticed the refs against Dallas yet. You know why? Because they are equally garbage in just about any game I have watched. I think they're just bad. So bad in so many different ways that I am more likely to believe it is coincidence rather than by design.

I don't know how you can look at all of the holds called against Tyron this year, and then watch that game and think that there isn't some bias in the officiating. The Cowboys DL got mugged all night, relative to what they've called on the Cowboys OL all year.

The last 6 weeks or so, officiating has been much more even than it was in the beginning of the year. Bad calls both ways.

I agree with this but I want to add that being a ref in the NFL seems much more difficult than being a ref in any other major sport. It's a tough job to do with 70,000 plus people all watching you ready to tear your head off regardless of what you call especially when you take into the account the speed of the game and sheer number of rules. If citizens in this country had to know the NFL rulebook in order to drive, the vast majority of us would be using public transportation to get around.

I think there's a tendency to notice every call that goes against you while ignoring those that go in your favor. The media "bias" is similar, noticing negative things while ignoring positive ones. It seems what gets the biggest reaction is when someone like Aikman or Romo says something good about a team or player we don't like.

I don't believe such "biases" exist in the minds of officials and media anywhere near as much as they exist in the minds of fans. I also don't think that's unique to Cowboys fans. Go visit any board you can find and I'll guarantee there are fans who think the refs and media are out to get them.

this is like looking for a consolation prize for your anger.

The cowboys suffer from some very unusual calls. Obviously there’s not a conspiracy, but it’s weird. A lot

Top 2 seeds made the final 4 and all have top rated offenses, the ratings will be fine. If the SB is KC-LAR, a new record will be set while the Cowboys sit home. This was not the case in 2016, the only 2 playoff games that were increases from 2015, a down year, were DAL-GB and NE-PIT, all others, including the SB, were down.

The Cowboys were bucking the trend in 18, a team led by it's D when they'd been O dependent for years and except for Ware, all the stars were on the O side.

The Cowboys will have their following but I do not see that growing or keeping pace if they do not follow the trend and score more points. The new NFL is all about scoring TD's.

As far as any NFL conspiracy regarding the Cowboys, I don't buy it, not remotely. If there was one based on the theory that the ratings increase the revenue and all of the owners would be willing to wire them in, they would have won a least one divisional game in 23 years.
