It's probably unfair to start declaring teams "winners" and "losers" right after the draft, but oh well. Soon I will begin working on in-depth, team-by-team breakdowns for each and every selection but in the meantime here is a quick, very preliminary look at the teams who, in my opinion, did a good job along with those who did not fare as well:

Winners
1. Kansas City Chiefs

2. Detroit Lions

3. New Orleans Saints

4. Carolina Panthers

5. Dallas Cowboys

Losers
1. Tennessee Titans

2. Green Bay Packers

3. Washington Commanders

4. New York Jets

5. Atlanta Falcons

1. We DIDN'T sell the farm to get DMAC-RELIEF!

2. We nonetheless drafted players that FIT our SYSTEM-another Relief!

It's one of the few draft sites I have bookmarked. That Karl Malone thread was an eye-opener.

Undeniable that they had the best draft. They could end up having the best offensive lineman, defensive lineman, and cornerback of the draft.

And then they added Morgan, Charles, and Cottam. Unreal draft.

Too bad their coach sucks though.

Scott Wright is the "President" of NFL Draft Countdown...isn't it his own site? Right, I am the President of this post...just this one...not the whole thread, I know my limits.

I said "could."

My rankings were something like:

1/2. Cason/DRC
3/4. Flowers/Thomas
5. Jenkins

Flowers had the best production of all of them in college, so it's not beyond reasonable that he'd be the most productive in the NFL.

Terrell thomas?.

I love Cason too .I think he would have made immediate impact but I like jenkins's upside.

Very underrated. Good size. Athletic. Extremely productive in college.

For example, in 13 games he allowed only 145 yards. Seriously -- 11.1 yards per game. Granted, he had a fantastic front 7 in front of him, but you can only discount that so much.

you have to understand Wade's thinking here in drafting jenkins and scandrick-they both excel in man coverage and thats what Wade wants to do for the majority of snaps.

How are the Chiefs gonna have the best cornerback in the draft when we drafted him? ;)

I mean at this point a lot of drafts look good, we won't know for a long while though who really had the best draft. The Chiefs certainly added a lot of players to a very average (if not bad) team, and they needed it badly.

Not sure where you heard that? All the reports out of the rookie mini-camp say Jenkins excels in man coverage as that is what he played mostly but has trouble playing off while scandrick is just the opposite. He is better playing off as thats what he is used to playing and gas more trouble in man coverage.

Not saying either one is terrible in either defense but.. that has simply not been the news coming out of the rookie camp.

The Chiefs HAD to have a good draft. Trading J. Allen put them in that position. With 6 picks in the first three rounds it appears they did get some good players.

Can President Wright be impeached? What kind of draft evaluator would leave the Steelers out of the top five after selecting Mendenhall? Incredible.

The Chiefs also had a TON of ammo to work with. That said, they did have a killer draft.

Yep, the team that goes into the draft with the most picks and perhaps the greatest needs should have the best draft.
