Way to diss Michael Irvin!

:laugh2:

He's the exception to the rule. Rich Eisen has his moments, Mooch is okay, and sometimes even Deion is tolerable. The rest of 'em are about as boring as this playoff game.

I have to agree with Warren on this. This isn't Madden. You aren't adding speed, catch, run after catch attributes to your team. You are adding a person, a high maintenance person to the team. I've always said that the person least likely to follow on the offense would be the one "leading" it. When Romo took over, everyone knew he was the leader, except for TO, and that is what why Romo wasn't perceived as the leader by the media. Romo couldn't get in TO's face for a mistake without TO getting mad because of it. TO is very talented, but he hasn't won a super bowl, which means that it is possible to win without TO.

re: TO and the Cowboys winning a playoff game

Sapp was right. Romo could not assert himself as the leader of the offense with TO around.

Mooch had interesting insights about the player.

Irvin is in denial regarding the nature of the distraction TO can be in the lockerroom. Romo could never become our leader until the divider of the locker room was gone. The problem isn't just TO mouthing off but his tendency to recruit allies to his side and tear the team apart from the inside out when he doesn't get his way. TO could only be the champion on a team that was so much better than every other team that he wouldn't be needed or tolerated.

Agreed.

And honestly, Irvin came off terrible insinuating that TO made Romo, but somehow Romo made Austin.

How does one WR make the QB, and the other is made by the QB?

Total hypocrisy.

Absolutely, it is a myth that TO made Romo and that myth was disspelled this year with Romo setting several records. One ageing but still great WR is not enough to make a guy look like a Pro Bowl QB unless that guy was already very talented.

Austin just needed to get a chance to play. He would have become a star anywhere with his ability to get open and catch the ball. When there is man coveage on him, he sometimes gets 5-10 yards wide open. CBs just can't keep up to his speed out of cuts.

I had to stop watching. I love Irvin, but he's out of his mind, thinking TO made Romo. I love TO's ability and appreciated him while he was here, but the only thing he made is the bed he now sleeps in. Romo is his own man and is excelling while TO's career is in the pits because he's a mental midget.
