So what is this? Whip around coverage of all the scores? Sounds pretty good if no NFCE game is on or interesting at the time

I looked for info on it. All I saw was a commercial for it on NFL.com. I wonder if it'll be a premium channel like SuperFan?

Whenever a team is in the redzone, they switch to that game to watch and see if they score.

In place of the Gameday thing? Or a new channel?

Ummm, I'm not sure what the gameday thing is. RedZone is a separate channel.

No it's a seperate channel then. You don't have to pay extra for it, it comes with regular sunday ticket. Superfan (games in HD) is what you pay extra for.

Well for the Sunday Ticket, there's always been a RedZone channel, which basically is that: if a team's in the red zone, it will be on TV. If not, they show the best game of the week until someone is in the RZ.

NFL accelerates "RedZone"

When the NFL extended its contract with DirecTV, the league secured the ability to eventually sell the Red Zone Channel to any interested cable companies.

When the NFL extended its contracts with FOX and CBS, the league secured the ability to do so right way.

And so, per John Ourand of SportsBusiness Journal, the league has created RedZone, a cable-specific corollary to DirecTV's Red Zone Channel.

RedZone will be produced by NFL Network, and it will originate from the league-owned broadcast operation's studios in Los Angeles.

Per Ourand, it debuts Week One, and Scott Hanson of NFLN will serve as the host. (Andrew Siciliano hosts the DirecTV version of it.)

To date, only Comcast has purchased RedZone, which will feature a series of live look-ins to the Sunday afternoon games.

Here's our advice to everyone out there with Time Warner and every other cable provider -- get on the horn and tell them to replace one of the crap channels that you never watch with RedZone.

In this regard, we do not expressly encourage threats of violence and/or bus desecration, but we acknowledge that we can't control the actions of adults who accurately believe that they're getting screwed.

This feature has been available to Sunday Ticket holders for years now.
It's a channel that basically tunes into any game that is the closest to scoring at that moment. It's a great addition to another television to follow games leaguewide or as an alternative when your team isn't playing.

Honestly, it's awesome. Especially for fantasy footballers. On Sundays, we have 4 HD LCDs here with usually the 3 most preferred games on and the fourth TV has the Redzone playing. Football is good.

Sounds like I might get it. Goodell is kicking ***.

Just get us to 18 reg. season/2 pre season games, implement a rookie scale and take a bow

There are hardly any commercials on it either, until all teams are at halftime. Just football, football, football.

Now that it's in HD, I much prefer the game mix channel. I always switch to it when the Cowboys go to commercial, and I always know when the game comes back on.

Comcast is giving it away for free(unlike Bobs mom)

It should be fun to get a taste of every game.

What happens w/ long TD's? Do they cut to it mid-play? Or wait til the end result and show it in its entirety?

Dish Network also has this channel. It is included with the silver package which you need to have inorder to get NFLN.
