They love to " hate us" and will show cowboys whenever possible because they know that even when disappointed WE will be there to watch, and hold out hope for return to those " Glory Days" ( credit to B. Springsteen )

They showed highlights from the Commanders game and showed how there were no WRs running routes to the middle of the field, said it was not on Tony Romo and Garrett should have made the adjustment, imo that game i blamed cole beasley our success on offense passing wise goes through Beasley but when he dosent know his routes or he is asking other WRs for the play it hurts us. More so Tony Romo who now has to clutch the ball and take a direct shot through the middle

Their segments the past couple of days have had to do with the 5 faces of Romo and the Cowboys December woes.

Interesting. It's not just CZ posters that think this is a problem.

It's not surprising that the members at CZ and other fans abroad, as well as the media see it. What has me puzzled is why is it they cant explain the phenomenon. You would think a well knowledged analyst could look at the recent match-ups, player mismatches, and all the other factors that go into game planing and explain why the trend has been away for working the middle of the field.

Question: In your extensive study of the team, can you tell us why the offense seems to run so few slants and other short range routes? Especially on blitzes!

Bob Sturm: I have wondered this quite a bit. They don’t like to use between the hashmarks that much with WRs and I don’t know if it is to just keep that space clear for 82 and his option routes. Almost all of Beasley’s routes go to the sideline and Dez and Williams are almost all going down the field outside the numbers. They used rub routes earlier in the year as man beaters, but I think they have seen over the years that linebackers dropping in coverage have put them in lanes that can be problematic. I really don’t know why the shallow crosses seem so rare. Dez scored on the one they ran against Jacksonville.

Good find.

I'm certain it has something to do with Romo getting intercepted in the past by underneath defenders and they want run those underneath defender out so they have a clear path to the longer routes, but I don't like it. They have to have some shorter routes in the middle on 3rd down or when they are getting to much pressure.

Funny. A lot of people on here were saying just that. I guess the game can be that simple.

Maybe the Cowboys are saving them for the playoffs.

Don't know why people watch this crap. I avoid stuff like this like the plague. Keeps me sane. I'll watch the game, but not this other garbage.

I'm not watching anything until kickoff. Not even The Playmaker. And I love me some Playmaker.

Agree on both counts.

It's old data that I've posted before, but this breakdown from Nov 2012 shows that Romo had a 63.8 passer rating on in breaking routes.
