Evidently he played for Oregon and he's who tipped the Cowboys on what the Eagles could be running based on formation.

I wonder if this is confirmed or simply speculation based on "he may have known" and "he may have told".

depends on how u want to take it.

The report was that Cowboys practice squad player is who tipped Cowboys off on Eagles plays. Said that cowboy defenders credited Weems with assisting them during film study.

Perhaps the first time I can recall bringing in a player who played for another coach and it paid off in information. It has happened more than once a player if released and picked up by an opponent.

Not quite the case here, but surely set a positive result.

I mean he could have helped but there are plenty of Oregon players in the league and game film from both Philly and Oregon. If Chip hasn't changed things up, then he's more arrogant than we thought.

If Chip hasn't changed his system formations since Oregon he is an idiot. There are way too many people who have played there and are now in the NFL. Just goes to show he isn't the genius that people think he is.

If Chip was nearly the genius he thought he was, he would never have made the decisions in the Eagles' offseason that he did. Geniuses don't even consider such boneheaded things. Methinks he's on his way out.

Biggest contribution he has made wearing the uniform.
I wonder if that all but guarantees Weems a spot while Chip is still in Philly. Chip is so arrogant that he still might not change, since he thinks it doesn't matter his system is unstoppable.

May be no more than mentioning a tendency or two. I'd find it hard to believe that we wouldnt have plenty of film on a division rival with a 3rd year coach that Weems could make much difference

His basic gimmick offense only worked in college because he coached a team with superior athletes. In the NFL talent evens out for the most part.

It's laughable people thought this guy would dominate the NFL.

What he's missing on is player evaluation. His decisions on the OL seem a huge issue.

Like most systems, it doesn't work if the players can't execute. Chip's is unique in that if the O fails, the D tends to get worn down quickly. That's the case with most team but when the O leaves the field in 90 seconds of real time, you just get no rest for the D

Weems was in Dallas last year wasn't he? I wonder why his info didn't help the defense stop the Philly offense last year?

Could it be the Cowboys getting good players on defense and Philly sending good players from offense out the door?

Nah... the Cowboys cheated.

I believe the report came from Ian Rapoport, so give it your full scrutiny.

For fans of The Wire, this is what Rapoport looks like on the job:
