I think the NFL is almost certain to strike - and for good reason.

It's going to suck not having football for a little while, but I hope they can get some of these issues resolved.

And I HOPE Gooddell is removed from his post by then, so it might make the negotiating process easier.

Kind of hope Smith and Goodell are gone by then.

Goodell for obvious reasons, not just Zeke incident.
Smith for giving in to allow Goodell to be a dictator.

It's much more likely the owners will lock the players out.The owners are very unlikely to play without a CBA. If they do the players could play the regular season and go on strike for the playoffs. That way the players get all their money for the season and the owners lose all the playoff revenue including the TV money. I doubt the players would be unified enough to do it but if I was an owner I wouldn't take the risk. A lockout before the season will surely result in the NFLPA folding and taking whatever the owners feel like offering. At least it has whenever they tried it.

To me a lock out or a strike is the same thing at that point.
The owners may call it a lock out, but the players would have been going on strike anyway.
it is a matter of who folds first. But the owners will have all these new or fairly new stadiums with no revenue. Not that hey get most of it from TV contracts and such. But then they will have those contracts coming up at some point also.

I think it will be more than a money deal with the players, they get paid well enough. It it all the other issues that are going on that will be on the table to resolve.

I very seriously doubt the 2021 season opener will be played as scheduled, or if it is, be played with players we have not heard of or know much of.

At some point I hope he rephrases that to "I can't imaging negotiating new CBA with Roger Goodell as Commissioner." Then Jerry should follow up with the simple statement that he agrees.
