UNC DE Robert Quinn in demandPass rusher making the rounds

North Carolina junior defensive end Robert Quinn has visits with the Cleveland Browns, Washington Commanders, San Francisco 49ers, Dallas Cowboys, Buffalo Bills and the Baltimore Ravens, according to a league source with knowledge of the situation.

The pass rusher solidified his upper first-round draft status with a blazing 4.57 time in the 40-yard dash at the Tar Heels' Pro Day workout after running a 4.62 at the NFL scouting combine. Plus, the 6-foot-4, 265-pounder also bench pressed 225 pounds 24 times and registered a 10-5 broad jump.

i wouldnt be mad if we took quinn if we stay at 9. Pass rush is needed on our team. Ware and ratliff cannot do it all and spencer is in the last year of his contract rather draft his replacement now.
Quinn reminds me alot of Ware. Im sure Garrett and Jerry can get some inside info on him from Butch.

No complaints here. Rob go have some fun with your new toys!!!

Wouldn't be a bit upset with either Quinn or Alton Smith, especially considering that Spencer is in the last year of his contract. If you're going amoeba in nickel, you need lots of pass rushers who can play from a 2 point stance.

First three picks of Quinn, Watkins, and Dowling would work for me.

Probably the safer way to go if you took Quinn, however, would be to pkg our 2nd and 3rd and treade back up into the 1st to get an OT. Waiintg until 40 could really be risky. The good news is that we are looking for a RT, not the left.

If von miller is gone i wonder if Arizona grabs him. Maybe just me hoping they dont pick PP.

I actually feel like Aldon Smith is a much more natural pass rusher than Quinn. I like both, but I like Smith better.

He's a natural rusher, uses his hands well, has some of the longest arms I've ever seen and has rare lateral movement.

I'd love Smith in round 1.

I think Sherrod will be there in the latter part of round one. I like him as a RT now and as a swing tackle. This is what I'd do if Quinn were there. I view Quinn as an elite prospect just behind Miller. And he may be better suited than Miller as a SOLB.

The Cowboys have two first round picks at OLB (including Ware) and 2 fourth round picks behind them.

How many do you guys want?

Give me the blue chip, Tyron Smith, so I can block blue chip guys like Robert Quinn.

No more generic on the offensive line.

My ideal scenario is to have Quinn fall to us at #9 and to trade back into the 1st to get Sherrod. I love Tyron, but I love Sherrod too. And if I get Quinn to boot? Shoot, I'm going to be hungover Friday.

Quinn is going to be a monster. I think he is top a 3 player in this draft

Are you kidding? Smith is stiff in comparison to Quinn. Smith has a much narrower based, stiff hips, long legs which creates a high center of gravity. Have you seen Smith trying to bend around the edge? He looks awkward doing it. While Quinn looks just like Ware coming around the end. He can dip his shoulder and contort his body just like Ware. The only difference is Quinn doesn't get the same jump on the snap as Ware can, and Quinn hasn't developed the repertoire of pass rush moves as Ware. But he will learn them. Quinn was an all-american wrestler. And, anyone that knows anything about the mentality of wrestlers knows that they are relentless, competitive, and dedicated to be the best. While Smith has said on taped interview that football isn't the most important thing to him. With that kind of attitude, don't look for him to get much better. Quinn, on the other hand, has had to fight through severe adversity to keep his football dreams alive. Football, is the only thing that's important to him. Just like Ware has continued to try different things to get better (ie. martial arts, palates), Quinn, with his strong determined mentality, will develop more pass rush moves and will learn to get off the snap quicker. He's bigger than Ware and just as good at this stage in their careers. Furthermore, when Dallas took Ware, most expected they were eyeing Merriman. They even had Merriman convinced Dallas was going to take him. No one suspected they were actually eyeing Ware. The fact that it's been "leaked" that they're considering Smith just reassures me that they're actually considering Quinn instead.

I understand that Tyron, well on OT, is top on the list. But sometimes BPA means alot more than a need. Sure we need an OT, but why past on a player that is the BPA just to reach for a need.

If the Cowboys have Quinn or Tyron ranked as the BPA, then I will support it but noone on this board really knows that for sure. Just cause we have high picks in the past at OLB doesn't mean we shouldn't pick there in the future, cause it is one of, if not the most important position on our defense.

Personally, I see Quinn as a better talent, but Tyron as a better need. Both of them would be right next to each other on our draft board. We need an OL more, so thats up to Jerry to decide.

Not by much though. If Spencer has another lackluster year rushing the QB than this will become a need real quick.

I'd rather stay @ 9 and get Quinn if possible than trade down for a RT.

My only problem with selecting an olb in the first is that he must start day one if not it is a wasted pick when you have other guys available that can help more such as Watt, Cameron Jordan or Tyron Smith. Doesn't make sense to draft a part-time player that high.

True, and my faith in Spencer is pretty low at this point. Tyron has flown up the draft for good reason, as did Ware. But Ware can't be an excuse to draft Tyron cause there are alot of flops that flew up boards too.

Quinn's main problem is he sat out a year, not anything talentwise. He is a much safer pick than Tyron cause of his performance on the field when he was playing, not the combine and measurables. I would be happy with Tyron, but his performance is much more of a question mark.

I think a lot of people think Tyron wasn't a beast on the field as well.

Tyron is a really good football player.

I felt like he would be a 1st round pick based on his play alone before I ever new his measurables or even his name.

Feeling like he is a 1st round pick, and being the #9 pick are two totally different things. I'm not saying he doesn't have talent, he does. But I do feel that Quinn would have to fall to us, whereas Tyron will probably be there regardless.
