was never a big hockey fan but when Gordie came to Houston to play for the Houston aeros I got my 1st taste of Hockey

Too bad he was a Red Wing..........I am not sure when he retired. I do not remember ever seeing him play, but I do know that he is considered one of the greatest ever....and is revered in hockey circles the way Unitas was in football and Mantle was in baseball.

I was glad he was a Red Wing. He brought a great deal of pride to the Detroit area when the other sports teams were failing.
