Our first team defense played better than their first team offense and our first team offense played better than their first team defense. Romo was sharp, Murray ran hard, Dez was a freak, Zach Minter with 2 sacks was great, #55 McLain played well, #60 Coleman made some plays, Williams had a couple nice runs. Defense and offense played good. Special teams was the only low light. Overall I was very pleased with the first teamers when they were out there. Much better effort than last week. Lots of guys showed up in this game. Theirs some guys who really want it. Nice game.

The Cowboys had two holding penalties and a muffed handoff that went for 6 the other way on the opening drive. The second drive was pretty good, but still lot's of mental mistakes. I really liked the play design from Linehan, however. I liked the fact that they stuck to the run and kept feeding Dez.

Other than the special teams, it was a very good game for the offensive and defensive first teams. And almost as important, there were several depth players that really showed up. Some players who obviously want it. Not much to be pessimistic about unless that's the way you roll.

I really hope we can sneak vaughn on to the PS. Unfortunately if we do someone will poach him a la Tanney last year.

Speaking of QB Tanney, is he doing anything in TB? TB has Glennon and McCown (any others?) so I think they may be in the same position and not want to go with 3 QBs especially with all their holes.

This was a game that certainly had its share of highs and lows. Essentially, I thought it was encouraging, though, especially since our first preseason outing proved so utterly devastating in terms of offering much hope for better things to come. Here, we saw several players step up who have potential and most of them are youngsters who might well be able to offer help for many future years.

Give more hope that we can finally break 8-8

Good seeing you enjoy some again...

Bengals waved him August 8th and Cowboys picked him a week later.

I don't know why, but he reminds of the Little Rascals' Chubby, who loved Mrs. Crabtree:

They don't have very many holes in TB.
Depth is an issue and, of course, QB...which is a big deal.
