Nice Showing Clemson

Clemson is in the ACC, and both participants in the national title game are from the SEC with two of the truly great defenses in history.

Also, the Big XII was very much down this year. OU and Missouri were average by their standards, A&M, Tech and Texas all sucked, Kansas State is just a "meh" team with great coaching and Kansas was maybe the worst BCS conference team in history this season. Only OSU and Baylor had good seasons by program specific standards, and Baylor got their teeth kicked in twice because their defense is so awful. How was the Big XII better this year?

Come on. There have been worse Kansas teams.

Yep, your right. Still, Big 12 is better IMO. Thanks you for pointing out my error though.

I love the Big 12 but right now I have to say overall SEC is still the king of college ball. I don't think SEC is head and shoulders above the Big 12 but I do give them the edge. Hopefully Kansas St. takes down Ark Friday Night at the Cotton bowl but still on the year I give the edge to SEC

It's really not Dooms. If you look at the statistical rankings and the computer rankings based on BCS, the Big 12 ranks higher this year. I would not argue the fact that historically (last 10 years) the SEC is the better conference.

No...It really is and my team is heading to the Big12.

There is a reason that they have won the last number of National Championships and getting ready to win another.

Now with that said. Big 12 is the best when you combine football and basketball and pretty darn close to just football.

That is not dissing any conference, just seeing it the way it is.

Of course it is all opinions.:)

That's not what the computers say. It's also not what the Bowl records indicate and I'm well aware of where your team will be playing next year.

It's fine. It's not like I'm giving my opinion on the matter. I'm simply saying that the computers say different. Don't shoot the messenger.

OK, I'm done with it. I'll say no more until next season.

They won two games (against McNeese State and Northern Illinois, and both were close games throughout), gave up 59 or more points five times and lost by totals of 42, 42, 30, 38, 43, 54 and 31 giving them the second most defeats by 30 or more points of any BCS conference team in a single season. Their statistical rankings were as follows:

106th in total offense (worst in team history)
95th in scoring offense (second worst in team history)
120th in total defense (Dead last in the entire NCAA and their 516 YPG given up is the second worst in NCAA history)
120th in scoring defense (Dead last in the NCAA and only the fourth team to ever give up 43 or more PPG in a season)

So in summary, Kansas had statistically the worst offense in their history and arguably the worst defense in the history of modern college football. They also led the NCAA in blocked kicks allowed and ranked 95th in turnover differential. Yes, a very legitimate argument can be made that are one of the worst teams in the history of major conference college football.
