In three years if he's playing like a franchise quarterback, we'll extend him. If not, then we'll cut him.

Exactly. We will take a hit if 31.5 in dead money but 4 years from now it will be more like 20 million relatively, because we know the cap is gonna shoot up.

The other option could be an extension. These numbers are so easily manipulated it's hard to ever really have a grasp on how it will work out. Of course that don't stop us from throwing a fit.
