The Philadelphia Eagles and quarterback Nick Foles agreed to a reworked contract Friday, a source confirmed to ESPN. The restructured deal includes a $2 million signing bonus, incentives if he starts and hits certain benchmarks, and a mutual option for 2019. Foles was in the final year of his contract and was scheduled to make a base salary of $4 million this season.

Looks like Foles is sticking around for at least another year. Eagles covering their butts in case Wentz isn't ready.

Its more about taking care of Foles who didnt get any bonuses for the SB . That 2 million is a nice bump of a reward. Eagles take care of their players plain and simple. The 2019 option lets him choose if he wants to stay or go be a starter somewhere. Dont get me wrong it still leaves this whole year to trade him as well if a team gets desperate. But I have a feeling that he has some say to where he goes.

Clearly, Foles and Pederson sandbagged last year at the end of the regular season in order to craft the underdog role for the Philadelphia Eagles before ALL OF A SUDDEN making the decision to elevate their game to top tier level. It was a brilliant chess move-like maneuver.

Clearly Foles will have to maintain the level he played at in the playoffs to stay ahead of Wentz - but how long can he and Pederson hold that underdog us against the world mentality and make it work?

Lol that’s just crazy talk.

and seems people still want Eagles to be underdogs .... MJD is a huge Eagles hater . All last year this chump was saying how we would lose . When Wentz went down he basically had an orgasm and the hate just flowed out of him. He said the Falcons would drush us , we got lucky he said. Then we had 0 chance of Vikes as their offense , Defense , Special teams and coaching was better .... we got lucky again. he then said there was no way that we beat brady :D Now he predicts us going 8-8. I see us with a min 9 wins and will be prob 10-6 this year.

The evidence supports it.

Its called being smart and playing football. You sound jealous because the Mad Clapper is unable to even think let alone do it . Foles was on the Bench all year .... it took a few games to get rust knocked off and get timing with players. Also they were doing some vanilla offense , why would they show their hand to the world . It was a huge advantage for Nick and Doug not having much film on them. 2 of the games was extremely bad weather 80 mph wind gusts and 5 degree temps. The Most important thing though for last few games was avoid injury , stay healthy and get time in. Yes Home field is important, but when your already down as many starters as eagles were " Including QB" avoiding injury was more.

What evidence? Lol

Nobody throws games. Especially when we didn’t even have home field locked up.

You don't just go from 40 percent accuracy to 80 percent against tougher competition unless you were sandbagging.

For a skins fan, I completely understand how playoff success has confused you so much. Don’t take these people too seriously, they don’t know how you feel.

So rationally explain how he doubled his accuracy percentage against VASTLY SUPERIOR TEAMS AND DEFENSES if he wasn't sandbagging late in the regular season?

Because he hadn’t played meaningful football in 2 years?

Why wouldn't he, after all he got $2 million bonus for bringing home a Lombardi.
