Foles, who grew up in Austin, Texas, seemed to be bothered by the carnival-like atmosphere at the stadium but settled down well enough to complete 17 of 26 passes for 263 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions.

"The atmosphere was crazy," Foles said. "It's a big, loud stadium with dancers (the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders) everywhere, giant video screens. It's a show. But you can't let that stuff distract you. You have to just zone it out.

Well, there you have it. Personally, I don't think the atmosphere at AT&T affects anything, but I'm not a player.

Note: This is just one aspect of the article.

And part of todays modern NFL is that the owners want this barnum bailey like atmosphere to drive up the return on their investment.

Well, until this year.

He went off still. We had 6 TOs... The guy plays on another planet in the stadium. I remember how Brett hated playing in Texas Stadium cause of the way the sidelines weere lower than the middle of the field. Some people just adjust to particular circumtances...

It's a madhouse with players walking through the bar to get to the field and every game being like a playoff game but I don't think it's any worse than Seattle or Minnesota and maybe not as bad with the noise.

What saddens me is that if the Cowboys were winning, all that stuff would be considered part of our swag. Oh, the failure.

The Saints aren't exactly very good on the road, especially in the outdoors. It is going to be worse when the Eagles beat them making Jerry think we are that much closer :(

I started to say the same thing on the swag part but it doesn't make me sad. It's frustrating as hell and I had to turn the TV off in the second half of a couple games this year and even thought they should start over as an expansion team a couple times and yes the season was a failure BUT I seen the O-line turn into a pro line and the penalties went down a little bit, the + turnovers went from -9 last year to +8 this year and they were 5-1 in the division so by the time the draft ends this year I'll be ready for the 12-5 season.

I would rather see the Cowboys play home games in that ran down Cotton Bowl than that over glorified art museum masquerading as a football stadium. It roots out the real Cowboy fans for those that want to go their just because its a place to be seen and because its the "In thing" to do.
At least the Texas Ranger fans go for the baseball, not because the Ballpark is awesome.

Yep. I don't think the Hollywood festivities impacts how players play. If it does, that means they're weak mentally. I think having to answer questions and distracting your focus from practice and from the games plays a more subtle impact. But I doubt players are distracted by the stadium's pole dancers.

This is not true about the rangers at all. The place until 2010 was crawling with bored housewives and their kids eating and hitting wiffle balls in center field, no one ever paid attention to the actual game. I started going to games their in 2003 and until 2010 I would say 90% of the people in their did not pay attention to the actual game, left around the 5th inning and were just trying to find something to do in the summer to keep their kids busy.

my friends have come down and visited and gone to the stadium with me many times through the years, one of my friends is one of those people that travels all over to different baseball parks....in 03 he was here for a royals series, we had great seats and he told it was the worst home crowd in any sport he had ever seen.

once they made the playoffs in 2010 the place changed and they changed the stadium. Everything got more expensive, they put in a ton more restaurants and shops and stuff.....If they miss the playoffs again this year they will be right back on their way to housewives and kids although the wiffle ball park is gone in center field now...

Kristi Scales reported the crowd was the best of the season Sunday. I took that to mean that the were disrupting the iggles and supporting the 'boys.

a 124.4 QB Rating is considered "settling down" against the Cowboys. I weep for the pass D.
