Nick Foles Released **merged**

A part of me wants him as our backup but at the same time the fact that the Rams let go of him so easily with a rookie qb at the helm makes me pause. Not to mention he was terrible last year

Honestly, he might not be better than Moore today. Again, have any of you watched him play recently? He sucks.

I'll kick the tires on him if he's dirt cheap. if he costs little to nothing it's worth a look but if they are talking about handing him a couple of million, hells to the no.

Unlike anyone else we've got, Foles at least has shown some measure of success in the NFL.

And I dont think Jeff Fisher has done any quarterback he's had a whole lot of favors in recent years. Seems very much like Buddy Ryan and his dons who would rather just focus on the defense and let his offense and quarterback fend for themselves.

Just out of curiosity, why?

Fantasy Football mentality. Everyone loves a name, and would hail it as a "solid" signing even if it makes no sense. I am prone to it myself. (Yesterday I was looking up Freeney's stats)

That said, if Foles wants to take a non-guaranteed $1m deal to compete for #2, sure why not. Outside of one season, I always thought Foles looked terrible, but I'm no scout.

His measure of success came in a season when the league had no idea how to defend Chip Kelly's offense. Once they started to figure it out, Foles regressed mightily. He started making dumb decisions, throwing off his back foot a lot, etc. He has a rag arm, no mobility and isn't that accurate a passer. Other than that, he's pretty good.

They let him go easily because the rookie QB that's at the helm was the #1 overall pick. The Rams gave up a lot to move up for Goff they're committed to him. Foles didn't play well last season but he has starting experience and has led a team to the playoffs by knocking us out. All we need is someone to keep us afloat if Romo goes down for a few games and Foles would be capable of doing that provided we can adjust the offense to fit his skill set.

I'll bring him in for a look if he's dirt cheap. But if he wants a couple of million or more, sorry Nick, go steal someone else's money.

Do want not sure why anyone would be against it. He played well with the Eagles in a bad system.

There seems to be some problem with the current coaching staff bringing the best out of the backup QB. Better than Moore, but probably wont make a difference.

I'd take Bradford in a heartbeat over Foles. Wouldn't even think twice about it.

Everyone is judging Foles on his time in ST. Louis. He's a good QB and would do great here....

As opposed to what we currently call our backup?

Bring him and compete. Romo won't b seeing a lot of reps anyway.

He wasn't very good his 2nd year in Kelly's system. Less than 60% passer.

You could flip that argument and say that people who think he'd be a great QB here are simply ignoring his last two years and focusing solely on that fluke 2013 season. Since 2013, he's been a 58% passer with a low to mid 70s QB rating.

In other words............. pretty much average to below average.

While he is better then the backups I still don't see this team staying afloat without romo. The handcuffs will be on.

Spend the money on de''s and a mlb.

^^^This

I'd rather roll with a guy who'd been in the offense for a while and is cheaper since it probably won't matter if Romo is down

Fluke Season? There is no such thing
