I think Spencer is going to be a tremendous player for us in the future. However, as it looks right now, Nick Folk, looks to be the steal of the draft! The jury is still out on Marten and Stanback, Doug Free looks like the future LT and will compete for the job next season assuming Flozell doesn't come back, and Deon Anderson is getting better every week and anytime you can get a starter in the 6th round, you're doing pretty well personal wise. This draft looks pretty solid considering the contributions we're getting from Spencer, Folk, and Anderson. :star:

After Folk hit the winning FG, did anyone else notice in the box Michael Irvin going absolutely nuts?? That was hilarious.

Heck yeah! Irvin will always be a true Cowboy unlike some guy who does play-by-play with Joe Buck. I forget his name...

Yes he does. We've seen it in numerous interviews. Does he bend over backwards to not be a homer during the broadcasts. Yes. He seems to give more love to the opponents. But he is a Cowboy at heart.

I have been screaming for years that the NFL nowadays is WAY too close of a league not to have an outstanding kicker. I'll spend a draft pick on one every damn year if I have too to find a good one.

How many games come down to kicks nowadays??? WAY TOO MANY.

2 years ago, we lose 3 games because of missed GIMMEE'S. Denver game, Seattle Game, and Skins game. We ended the season 9-7. Had we won those 3 games, we would won our division, the skins wouldn't have made the playoffs, and we would had homefield advantage in the playoffs, cause we would have beat Seattle.

Instead we watched the playoffs from home. BLASPHEMY. For the price of a great kicker, which is chump change compared to what the other players get. Give me a kicker every time.

I bet you're right. You can tell Troy is doing his best not to come off as a cowboy homer during broadcasts, so much it sounds like he's Joe Thiesman at times.

I said this yesterday BEFORE the game. Folk proved me right!

Troy Aikman is more of a True Cowboy than anyone on this board.

He has earned the right to say anything he wants about the Boys as long as he always shows respect.

He earned it with the 3 Superbowls and the permanent damage to his health.

I'll never understand the propensity to draft a guy in the 6th or 7th round who has no chance to make the team, or at the very least contribute in the foreseeable future, while refusing to select a guy (read: kicker) who can have an instant and profound effect on a team's success.

No doubt! Did you see that hit he put on the tailback? He completely smashed him!

Troy at least TRIES to hide his Cowboys homerism. Irvin always picks the cowboys, and rightfully so, but don't fault Aikman. He is a cowboy forever.

Looks like this was a good year to draft a kicker: Lots of good ones got snagged this draft. Thank goodness we picked right. Kudos to the draft team guys who championed folk! I didn't think it was a great idea at the time, but I will happily eat that crow.

I wasn't convinced at the time of the draft or much after that Folk was the better pick over Crosby but he sure has come up big...Crosby seems to have proven he was a smart choice as well for Green Bay so it's been win win really.
