The Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle had eight inches of hair cut off this week and donated it to Children With Hair Loss, an organization that helps children with medically related hair loss.

"Some kid needs it for Christmas more than I do," Hayden said Wednesday while sporting a clean-cut look in the Cowboys' Valley Ranch locker room.

"Me and my wife have been looking around, just seeing where I can donate it. I knew I was going to do it, just didn't know when. I just thought Christmas was an appropriate time for it."

That's a great cause that he is contributing to. Hopefully there isn't a Samson like effect here on the field.

Though, would we notice? :)

I think the more pressing question is, will he live up to his nickname now that those Golden (L)ocks are gone?

LOL!

I was going to make a "Sampson" post and I thought, "Well that's probably a low blow considering he's doing something good– so I'll hold off"

Glad to see someone didn't have my discipline. :)

I like this guy. Seems like a cool cat. Nice thing to do, especially around the Holidays. He's been a popular whipping boy around here, and he might not be the best DT in the league, but he definitely gives it his all.

I still haven't forgotten the bizarre/interesting TD celebration he did last year when he scored against Minnesota on a fumble recovery. Someone otta make a gif outta that.

If there's a bar out there, I will end up going under it. :)

Hayden brought out his Pete Townsend imitation after scoring the first touchdown of his NFL career and his first since he was a tight end at Arrowhead High School in Hartland, Wis.

“I had to get the guitar tuned up a first, put the strap on, then rock out and throw it down afterwards,” Hayden said.

Hayden swears he never practiced the celebration before, but he was considering it if he got a sack.

“I wish I could play guitar in real life, so I guess they say the tuner is important for most artists to get it right on tune,” Hayden said. “But it was just something fun. It was a good time.”

Nice. Makes sense now watching it after reading the explanation.

And I call BS he never practiced that. Hayden was prolly doin that nonsense in front of his bedroom mirror on a regular basis.

Two of my friends, Paul and Rich have done this, and so too has BrainPaint from this site I think. I admire that people do this. I wish I had known of it when I cut my long hair off back in 1983.

I have been a Hayden hater but I have seen him take on double teams, get push and shed blocks, and even get a hand up to cause an int. Have to give credit where credit is due. He stepped up his game when it counts most. I tip my hat to him.

I still think he is a minus on the nickel but they have been playing Mincey and Crawford together inside a lot there. I think Brent, Hayden, and Melton rotating one spot and Crawford taking the lionshare of a rotation with McClain is a great mix. Hayden wears down when he starts getting to 40 snaps. Melton is way too easy to run on. Brent wears down at 15 snaps.

Did it in 94. 11".

It was the only thing that made it bearable.
