This probably has been discussed, but I missed it, so here goes.

Given a choice, I will take an offensive lineman when possible. Nick Martin is a C/G projected to go in the 2nd or 3rd. I kind of like the idea of taking him if he is there in the third, put him in his brother's spot and move Zach out to right tackle.

Just a thought, but I think the chemistry on the line would be great.

He was easily the best interior guy for the North at the Senior bowl.

I would like to have him but we have so many other needs that i'll probably have to pass if he is going in the 2nd or 3rd.

The DT depth in this draft is pretty crazy and we'd be making a huge mistake to not load up on those guys with our current situation.

There is no spot for him in Dallas. No way we draft a C/G backup....he would have no chance of starting at either spot, and we aren't moving a probowl OG out to RT unless we get incredibly desperate, which we won't be.

We could move a non pro-bowl OG in Collins to RT though.

But like said by CATCH, I doubt they are taking an OL that high in this draft.

Well there is another option.

Collins makes the move to RT and both Martins play guard.

It would give you flexibility for sure. If Frederick goes down, you have a viable replacement at C for him. You could then plug Green or move Collins back to OG if Martin went to C and then Green slides into the RT spot.

But with the other needs, I'd be stunned if they went OL again in the first 3 rounds.

We will possibly need a C/G backup. Berney is a FA and Leary is a RFA, so depends on what his tender is if he signs elsewhere. I am hoping they give him the 2nd round tender or a 3rd.

That leaves Green as a back up G unless he battles Free for RT. I doubt any players start getting moved around in lieu of a draft pick. So a FA OL may be signed, then OL drafted later on.
Still if Berney moves on, will need a back up C, unless one of the other players can fill that role.

They like Martin. I think he would have to fall to 4th before they took him though. Collins has the athleticism to excel at any position on the line. I could see him moved to RT eventually.

if we don't resign Bern or Leary im for it. Don't want if i have to move an all pro guard to tackle. hmm not sure about how i feel about Collins moving to Tackle. I love the havoc he has been creating in the interior in the run blocking. watching him run over some of the best defensive players this past year was awesome.

Collins struggled in pass protection at OG....no way he's ready for OT. He's an OG through and through, I believe. Plus we drafted two OT's last year and still have Free doing a decent job.

All good reasons why we cannot take an Olineman high in the draft, but everyone will start complaining if Free is starting again next season.

I love Martin. I don't think we would draft him but it's hard to complain with a pick like him. JMO

I agree
Just to many defensive needs though we do need a backup G/c I don't think they take on that high and probably get a vet for that job

But we still wouldn't have a RB worth a crap to run behind that OL

Yeah. Garrett. That's the guy.

John Garrett...."High and tight Jason...High and Tight"....LOL.
