if he was younger I would love John Goodman to play madden. Madden was a big man; you need a big actor. Cage is not.

Been enjoying Cage taking acting seriously again, but this just seems like a miscast.

And while Madden was a great personality, is his actual story interesting enough for a biopic? Seems like it would be better as a documentary.

He's a method actor. He'll develop an eating disorder if he has to.

props + makeup. That part isn't so hard.

The much bigger challenge by far? Can he convey Madden's VOICE.

I tend to agree, but again...the VOICE.

A voice like Madden's has such well known timbre and cadence and style. We've all heard it and know it by heart. The movie could stand or fall on how Cage can pull off vocal gymnastics (or it can be re-worked in post. AI maybe?).
