Nike does not want you to see that dunk

AKRON, Ohio -- You want to see video of Xavier's Jordan Crawford dunking on LeBron James?

If so, too bad.

Because you're not going to see it.

Thanks to Nike.

Turns out, there were at least two cameras rolling Monday night when Crawford dunked on James during a pick-up game here at the LeBron James Skills Academy. It was a two-handed jam, the kind that would've circulated quickly on YouTube. But Nike officials eliminated that possibility shortly after the dunk happened by allegedly confiscating tapes from various cameramen.

Freelance photographer Ryan Miller was one of the cameramen shooting the game.

He told CBSSports.com that Nike Basketball Senior Director Lynn Merritt took his tape.

"He just said, 'We have to take your tape,'" Miller said. "They took it from other guys, too."

Worth noting is that there is no policy against filming at the LeBron James Skills Academy, and Miller said he had been filming all day without incident. Nobody ever told him to stop. Nobody ever said there was a problem ... until after Crawford dunked on James.

"LeBron called Lynn over and told him something," Miller said. "That's how I knew his name was Lynn. LeBron said, 'Hey, Lynn. Come here.'"

Minutes later, Miller said Merritt demanded his tape.

"There's nothing I can think of besides LeBron just not wanting it online," Miller said. "It's a good story to tell people, I guess. But then again, I'm kind of pissed. I lost my tape."

It will eventually leak out and show that it is not that big of a deal. Anyone who has ever played pick up basketball has been dunked on at some point. It will be an "ooo" or "ahh" moment and nothing more. It is silly to try and hide it.

They had probable cause. It would probably have caused Nike to lose a great deal of money.

:eek::

If they guy was dumb enough to give up his video that is on him. He should have just walked out when they asked him to turn the video over. These weren't cops. They were Nike execs. Probably not even guys that were in good shape. Now if LeBron asked him to give up the tape that may be different. The guy is huge.

This could all just be a publicity stunt anyways. Make a big to do about it and then release the tape showing the guy dunking with Nike logos all over his body.

if lebron did ask for it because he didnt want to get embarrased thats pretty weak of him, is he really that sensitive?

a couple of years ago he dunked on duncan on the home opener for the spurs(i was at that game) people made a huge deal about it because it was on duncan, etc. He proceeded to get the poster or that dunk and put it up on his locker, what did duncan do about it? he just said he is glad lebron is a fan of his and offered to sign it for him, then he proceeded to his fourth championship thanks to lebron and his cavs, classic

yeah one of the best posterizing dunks i've ever seen was when Vince Carter dunked on Duncan. it happens. atleast a guy like Duncan will try and block the shot instead of moving out of the way in fear of getting dunked on. meanwhile Vince Carter has a slam dunk championship and Tim Duncan has 4 NBA championships. i'd get dunked on plenty of times if i'm gonna have a handfull of championship rings like Duncan.

he also gets dunked on because he tries not to foul, so guys get him alot on dunks since he isnt gonna kill somebody just to not have them dunk on him

Also because he can't jump. :D

If he can get his long arms on the ball, he's rock solid, but his lack of air denies him some of the highlight reel blocks.

I don't see why team Lebron is making such a big deal about this. Pretty much everyone gets dunked on at some point in their career.

Not me, of course, but that's only because I usually play with a bunch of 30+ white guys who can only dunk donuts. :p:

I do not get what the big deal is! he is not even a shot blocker.. not like it is Bill Russell in his prime getting dunked on. it is a small forward , who cares that he plays in the NBA...

Did I miss something? Why is Lebron making a big fuss about it. He got dunked on by an amateur, okay?
