With all the holes this team has, and now CB probably a must in this draft, I think this team is going to have to trade back (possibly multiple times) to gather more picks.
Problem is you lesson the available overall talent each time you do this.
Eleven picks may be a must.

I agree. That’s why you see me trading down and out of one in almost every mock. To be a contender we need to add legit players at LG, DE, WR, C, and TE. after that need depth at LB, S, DT a kicker, etc.

I agree.
If they can end up with 5 or 6 picks in the Top 100, along with stockpiling another 5 or 6 picks in the 101-200 range, they can get some quality and quantity.
I wouldn't mind dropping out of 1st to make this happen.

The only way I trade out of the first round is if I get another teams first round pick next year.

9 rookies won’t even make the 53 man roster and we’ll be lucky if 4 rookies have any kind of impact on next year’s team. Expecting to go into the draft and plug multiple holes is like relying on the lottery to pay your rent

That doesn't work? Dammmmmiittttt, do not tell me I have to give up the redneck retirement plan?!!!!!

X a gadzillion.

We'd need a trade similar to the trade w/ the Browns back when they just had to have a QB. We need a 2 this year and a 1 next year.

They need another 3rd round pick! It seems they are telegraphing these four positions - WR, Offensive Line, Edge and TE. If the draft fell like this
1st - Green/Johnson
2nd - Williams (wonder if the off field baggage might be more of an issue now because of Joseph)
3rd - TE Woods, Ruckert, Ottom

The problem with not having another top 100 pick is all the WRs that could help are most likely gone by 129. But late in the 3rd early in the 4th one of the following would probably be available.
Shaker
Metchie
Austin
Tolbert
Robinson
Pierce
Bell
Gray

Ideally they can swing a trade like last year and pick up an additional 3rd without losing Greene or Johnson.

this

we have enough picks

Use the picks we have to pick good players instead of getting cute

Completely agree. it's why i get so confused when people say they are going to wait until after the draft to determine our offseason success..like really? as if they really expect all nine picks to be high level contributors as rookies.

mccarthy's last 2 draft classes all made the roster.
he has an excellent track record thus far.

Need more picks between 2-4 specifically.

Exactly
This team needs a starting guard first and foremost, and I think most want Green or Johnson. Neither of which I believe are graded as round 1 picks.
I think one of those two or another starting guard could be had in round 2.
There is a lot of beef in this class in rounds 2-4. The more of those picks they can get, the better their depth will be. And they need depth.

Spot on. Especially the early to mid 2nd.

Nope, reality is the opposite.

They have depth. They need a couple of top tier talents.
