No. 2 Oklahoma Runs Over Texas Tech
Sooners 28, Red Raiders 13

NORMAN, Okla. -- Jason White threw for three touchdowns and Adrian Peterson ran for 146 yards with a score, leading second-ranked Oklahoma to a 28-13 victory over Texas Tech at Memorial Stadium.
White completed 15-of-24 passes for 151 yards for the Sooners (4-0, 1-0 Big 12), who won their fifth straight conference opener. White now has 55 career touchdown passes, surpassing Josh Heupel as Oklahoma's all-time leader.
The Sooners have averaged just over 40 points in winning their first four games -- all at home -- and will have their first big test next week against Texas in the Red River Shootout.
Johnnie Mack scored the lone Texas Tech touchdown and Alex Trlica added a pair of field goals. The Red Raiders (3-2, 1-1) had a two-game winning streak stopped.
Sonny Cumbie completed 36-of-55 passes for 369 yards with three interceptions in defeat.
The Sooners took a 7-0 lead on their second possession of the game. Peterson keyed the six-play drive with a 61-yard jaunt and finished it with a one-yard run for the touchdown midway through the opening period.
Oklahoma then recovered a fumble at the Tech 34, but lost yardage and a punt pinned the Red Raiders at their own one-yard line.
Tech managed to escape the shadow of its own goal line with a 22-yard pass from Cumbie to Jarrett Hicks, then marched to the Oklahoma 15 before Trlica booted a 32-yard field goal to make it 7-3 early in the second quarter.
The Sooners responded with a 73-yard drive for another score. Peterson keyed it with a 26-yard run, but fumbled a few plays later and teammate Will Peoples recovered to keep the series alive. White finished the march with a 10-yard touchdown pass to Travis Wilson for a 14-3 lead with 8:32 left in the half.
Brandon Shelby then picked off a Cumbie pass to give the Sooners the ball at their own 40, but again the offense couldn't take advantage of a turnover and punted it back to Tech.
The Red Raiders drove to the Oklahoma 42 in the closing minute of the half, but Cumbie's heave toward the end zone was intercepted by Brodney Pool and the Sooners went to the break with an 11-point advantage.
Tech took the second half kickoff and marched for a 20-yard field goal from Trlica to cut its deficit to eight.
Back came the Sooners as White directed a nine-play, 65-yard drive for another touchdown. He tossed a 13-yard pass to J.D. Runnels for the score, giving him the record and his team a 21-6 lead late in the third.
Cumbie guided the Red Raiders deep into Oklahoma territory on the next series, but a fourth-down pass from the 15 fell incomplete.
The Sooners responded with an 11-play, 85-yard march for a touchdown. White converted a pair of third downs during the series, finishing it with a nine- yard scoring toss to Wilson to make it 28-6 with 10:30 remaining in the contest.
Cumbie was then picked off by Pool, but Trey DiCarlo missed a 36-yard field goal for Oklahoma and the Red Raiders answered with their only touchdown of the game -- an eight-yard run by Mack with 4:50 to play.

Heupel held the OU touchdown pass record of 53...Peterson, who carried 22 times, has reached 100 yards rushing in each of his four games...Oklahoma has won 17 straight home games...The Sooners lead the all-time series, 10-2, winning their last five against Texas Tech.
