Does anyone have the numbers? What could be done to fix it?

Where is Adam?

We will be under the cap as we have to be. How we do it is what the issue is.

As far as "fixing" it, well, they say you cannot fix stupid.

Fixing it would require taking your lumps and blowing this team up. That isn't happening. We'll just keep pushing the problem further down the road so as not to interrupt the "Jerry!" chants in camp next summer.

2014: Does anybody else have a different feeling about this year? Like this is our year?

so, if healthy, the current team could have been 10-6, 11-5 IMO (possibly better)...of course the health of this team is a joke

if they stay reasonably healthy for next year and can get some nice DL picks, make a few smart FA moves, especially on the DL (ex: reduce Ware's cap hit and retain him, re-sign Spencer to a short-term, reasonable deal, bring in a YOUNG DL that has some potential to get on and stay on the field, etc), then they could be competitive; and I don't mean the drone-like 8-8, just miss out on the playoffs competitive....the thing that I (and many in here) noticed about the league is that there are a very few really good teams, but not a lot of them...everyone can be beaten, so getting younger across the board and stronger on the respective Lines makes us a contender

realistically, in my scenario, we go 11-5, 12-4 if everything falls the right way...take away two victories to Garrett's learning cycle and we end up 10-6 which should be good enough to end the playoff drought

should I assume sarcasm here? If so, I am not a fly-by-night fan, been around with the team since the early 70's as a 9-year old...I can see some positives in the team, and one HUMONGOUS negative....the team will need to win despite Jones and Garrett...with health, it is possible....

If you were being sincere, then my apologies

Oh, I'm sure you aren't. You just painted an unrealistic picture where a team this devoid of talent is a few pieces away from being a 12-4 contender with a decent head coach next year.

I just do not agree.

I think the team needs a lot more talent, I am just talking about a near-perfect scenario, which isn't likely to happen...we can't bank on health, and the back-ups, in some cases, are not NFL-caliber players....thus, mediocrity...I understand where you are coming from and cannot dispute your viewpoint....I just feel we were some health this season from being a #2 seed...with some health on defense this year, perhaps some of the 5, count 'em, 5 3-point or less losses are victories...and, I truly can't stand Jones at this point and his refusal to bring in football guys...but, it is his shiny toy and he can do what he wants with it....
