Not trying to say that we're the New York Yankees (I'm a red sox fan).

But I don't think we're anywhere near where the cap limit would be and on top of that no CBA means no franchise tags, which means we could go after Logan Mankins (correct me if I'm wrong).

I wouldn't mind picking up both Mankins and Matt Light.

Sox are just as bad , But if it helps you sleep at night . ;)

Ive seen thread a while back saying we currently have one of the highest payrolls as of now. I realize alot changes with tenders and cuts etc. But to me mankins is off the table too expensive i think after getting our own house in order Free,Kosier, sensi etc. Our big splash will probably be Huff then a some mid-low tier type guys morrison or blalock.

If they go with 2010 rules for the upcoming season I believe there were franchise tags, and therefore they would still be usable (not 100% sure but do know they used them last year).

Yankees have nearly double our pay roll, but that is neither here nor there.

Logan Mankins signed, Leonard Davis released is a wash financially if there are no cap ramifications.

Cap or no cap, the team still has a budget.

Nearly double? Lol, you must be joking..yanks are about 202 million while Boston is about 160 million...far, very far from double..

It's a lot closer now, but looking back as close as 2009 it was 201 million versus 122 million...

But as I said, neither here nor there.

We would still have a budget, but protecting Romo would be much easier to do, and Jones would pay for it.
